Man, I love the scores from all those wacky Kurt Russell films of the '60s. Is anything at all available from THE BAREFOOT EXECUTIVE? How about the catchy song "He's Gonna Make It"?

I'm not too crazy about the score for the Hong Kong fireworks show. It is certainly well orchestrated and arranged, but is a glorified pastiche of every other fireworks show put on in California and Florida. What bothers me most about it is that there is no new original theme.

I don't think there is any reason to expect the full score (12 minutes) from "Reflections of China." My understanding is that a suite of 3 to 4 minutes will be presented on the next Official Album.

No, but its from one of his non-Disney film scores. By the way, the China excerpt is from the Macau/Hong Kong segment of the film, and is very similar to a selection that plays during the load.

From the notes accompanying the 2006 OA, which includes an all-too-brief cue from the 2001 loop, we now know that the composer of the original theme (called "Legacy" on the cd) is "Woods".... the only problem is that nobody has been able to find out who this composer is other than his/her surname.

It now appears that the un-downloadable cd has been removed from the iTunes music store, presumably to correct the problem with this title. It should reappear soon. Sorry, I don't have the tracklist, but you should be able to find it on Walmart.com (look in the music downloads section).

The soundtrack still cannot be downloaded from the U.S. iTunes store, although the samples are available. Apparently, it can be downloaded from Walmart.com, so clearly there is an issue with the iTunes store on this title. I sent an email yesterday to lodge a complaint, and 24 hours later got...

Screwed again.... the soundtrack to Cinderella 3 is released as a digital download only, with just one 2:42 score track by Joel McNeely... and inexplicably, the album shows up in the iTunes store but when you try to buy either the whole album or the McNeely track, you get an error message...

I'm going to miss O, Canada! Maybe the individual reels of film will end up in one of those ebay auctions of Disney park cast-offs, and you can recreate the theatre in your apartment, Bill (like Kramer re-creating the Merv Griffin set in his pad).

Just think how fast an Intrada-issued set devoted to Bruce Broughton's Disney park music would sell out... if only Disney would loosen the reigns.
