Randy I appreciate your taking the time to post here on this thorny subject. I'm not happy with the imminent demise of the physical cd, and I'm just thankful that specialty labels like Intrada, Varese, and FSM are showing no signs of slowing down in bringing out limited edition compact discs...

I agree wholeheartedly with everything Olivier posted above. I share the same concerns about iTunes-only releases (though I have, on occasion, purchased single tracks and albums from the iTunes store in the absence of any other option).

That is sad... Here's hoping he's gone to a happier place.

You miss my point -- yes, much of it is rehashed.... but what I'm talking about is the quality of the music. Rehashed or not, it is an impressive compilation of great park music by some terrific composers. The issue of what percentage of each new OA must consist of entirely new material...

The untimely death of Poledouris is a terrible blow to film music fans like myself. Its too bad "American Journeys" was left off the Disneyland 50th anniversary set. It is a beautiful orchestral score, and I was very disappointed that it wasn't included. Truly sad news.

Needless to say, I have it, and it is outstanding. At 1200 copies, this is sure to sell out before Christmas. ELOISE AT CHRISTMASTIME is particularly fetching, by the way. Highly recommended!

All three cds are fantastic. Anyone who enjoys the music from Disney's big fireworks spectaculars will enjoy them.

I have now heard the new tracks, and as for Ellen and HISTA, they both sound better than the previously released material. The Ellen track on the promo cd had a tinny sound, and on the new OA, it sounds significantly fuller and richer, with deeper bass. The HISTA track is also much improved in...

I, for one, own the original promo cd put out by Bruce Broughton that has the "overture" to Ellen's Energy Adventure, so I have been listening to it in cd quality for years. It is a wonderful track, and I'm glad more people will have a chance to obtain it now, but I'm still very disappointed...
