You've got to find these things the old-fashioned way as Shazam has never been to Hawai'i. :(

I was trying the old-fashioned way. :(

I hope you were able to ID my favorite song in the loop. I'm going to check now.

EDIT: YOU FOUND IT! Just curious, how did you find it? I tried searching for what portion of the lyrics I could understand.

This has nothing to do with the topic at hand, but I just wanted to say that I really like the way you present the formats for music releases in your posts, Jay! They're pretty slick. The little graphics, the vertical dividers, even the "graying" out of the ones that aren't available, as above. I'll have to steal this method the next time I post links to a release. :D

Mine too! :)

LOL. I tried searching on lyrics, too. No luck. I found it the same way I managed to find all of the AKL tracks back in the day — by going through dozens upon dozens of Hawai`ian CDs. I knew that Roland Cazimero was involved with some of the guitar instrumentals, but it was happenstance that I stumbled upon this particular CD.

No problem with stealing this method as it is the one that I will be using in the Playlists section — but fancied up some more. Anything I put into regular forum posts will look like this. You may have noticed this is already being put to use in news items.

The graphics are available in the list of emoticons.

Great! I buy one CD on Amazon from your first list and here you come with another list. Just kidding. I am glad to know this stuff. I do love the music there. We spent a little time at the Polynseian this year and ate at the character breakfast at O'hana. Great food, and love the juice there. I asked the waitress. She said it is a mix of Passion Fruit, Guava, and Orange Juice. I have been trying to find some passion fruit juice so I can make some at home, no problem finding the other two. Now, if I can just find the passion fruit juice, when my first CD from Amazon arrives I can kick back and listen to some Hawaiian tunes and sip my juice. Then I will have to get up and order some more of these CD's. Thanks again for the new list, Jay!

I went back and added cover art thumbnails so that it is easier to see how many albums are used in the loop. You're five behind, Angie, and I haven't even posted the full list yet! :D

Looks to be an expensive loop to reconstruct. :(

It helps if you've got a head start. Searching through my CD collection, I managed to find:

Slack Key & Steel Guitar - Volume II
Maile Serenaders
 CD   iTunes   MP3

410R15PM1VL._SL500_AA65_.jpg
Waikiki's Greatest Hits Now!
Roland Cazimero
 CD

Where Is My Love Tonight
Ohta-San
 CD   iTunes

Forgotten until now... I purchased these CDs back around 1996-1997 when I first thought about reconstructing the Polynesian loop. I had asked someone at the front desk if he knew anything about the music and he gave me a hand-written list of seven or eight CDs. I immediately purchased everything on the list, but with the exception of the three CDs above, the others turned out to be incorrect.

As Disney had apparently just changed the music back in early 1995 (see Post [post="18225"]#14[/post] above), I wonder if the other CDs had been used in the prior loop or elsewhere around the hotel.

A couple of my CDs from the list, believe it or not, are still factory sealed after all these years. I really need to get around to ripping all of my CDs. Who knows what other gems I may uncover!

I know I am five behind, but I am also still trying to collect some other CD's from some of your other playlists. I still have a few more of those that I want to get, as well as the other Outback CD I don't have that is used in AK. My hubby wants that one. He really likes them. I am trying to decide about buying a used CD versus iTunes. I still like having the CD. I always try to remember to go to iTunes via your links to send a little money your way. I even have a post-it note stuck to my monitor to help me remember. Thanks again, Jay, I think. My husband asked me the other day how many CD's I had bought and I didn't even want to total it up myself. My wishlist never seems to end, and every time I get close to completing it, here you and Horizons come with more stuff I love. I guess I could just stop buying them, but that wouldn't be any fun now, would it? ;)

I just discovered the joy of collecting movie soundtracks, thanks in part to Disney and thx99. Over the past three months, I've probably purchased 100 CDs. I can understand your statement that the "wishlist" never ends. I'm afraid to see what I'll have to purchase once Jay posts all of the playlists he's been working on.

Can't be worse than Blizzard Beach though.

Compared to other BGMs, the Pioneer Hall BGM is relatively inexpensive to construct. Whereas the Echo Lake loop is compiled of around 15 somewhat obscure CDs over 23 tracks, the Pioneer Hall BGM is compiled of around 10 CDs but contains over 115 tracks. Quite a bargain. (I've already purchased the "Traditional Fiddle Music of the Ozarks" CD. Very neat stuff!)

I just purchased "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" and "How the West Was Won" for the Marina loop. Two incredible scores. Regarding Pioneer Hall, the Bela Fleck and Aubrey Haynie CDs are really good.

I'm a big fan of the "Lakeland" track. It reminds me a bit of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". Any luck with those unknowns?

To be honest, I haven't done anything with this loop since the last update. Jay has offered to listen to the 16 unknown tracks, I just have to find time to cut them from the recording.

Maybe I missed it, but I see links to songs that are in the Poly's Area Music. But is there an updated loop listing anywhere... or are these just "hey, here's some music in the loop" links? :)

Huh?

The same loop has been playing at the Polynesian Resort since early 1995. There are 18 tracks with a total playing time of 53:00.977 (including an extended pause after Track 18).

The tracks that I listed in previous posts are part of the loop. I found them by comparing samples from approximately 1,200 Hawai`ian CDs. Yes, I am nuts!

The track numbers appearing in one of the posts are correct. I have my reasons for not filling in the rest of the track numbers at this time.

I am still working on identifying some remaining tracks.

As no one else has ever posted any of these tracks, I will know exactly where they came from should they magically appear at Little Ricky's or elsewhere.

The Polynesian and other playlists will begin to appear in our Playlists section after we have made the jump to IP.Board 3.0. The transition could take place any day now.
