Ordering "A Musical History of Disneyland"

I can't afford the 6 discs, so where can I get the 2 disc version? Disney Direct only seems to be offering the 6 disc version, Delivears knows nothing about 2 discs and Amazon only has the WDW version?

Help please!

I ordered two this morning via phone from Disneydirect at about 8:30, EST--I wanted to talk to a real person. Item #61499 is SPECIFICALLY for the gold vinyl, limited edition set, according to the person I spoke with, and at the time I called this morning, it still showed as being available.

Sooooo, I'm optimistic that I'll be getting the gold vinyl set.......but, then again, being an eternal optimist has gotten me into trouble before......

I ordered my copy last night via phone a bit before midnight EST. I don't know why I'm so excited to get the gold record considering I have nothing to play it on. :) It'll still be neat to have though. The woman I spoke to said I'd receive my item within 8 days, not mid-May. My card was actually charged today, so I'm hoping she's right. :D

YEAH!

Just placed my order online as soon as I saw it was available. The website accepted my order without any problem and the item description clearly states that I ordered the limited edition. So everyone who has ordered online has a contract with DisneyDirect to provide the limited edition and NOT the normal edition - which means they should be on the safe side. I expect them to fulfill the contract they have entered...

Right, Dirk--I like your legal wording--that was my point above--item #61499 through Disneydirect is, once again, SPECIFICALLY the listing for the gold vinyl, limited edition set! That is what we should be receiving, if the computer showed it was available.

Should I be holding my breath?

Mike

P. S. No confirmatory email yet........

Hi Mike and everybody else who also ordered at DisneyDirect ...

when you placed your order you should have received an ordernumber (at least it is displayed when the order is placed online). If you got one of these go to http://www.disneydirect.com, scroll all the way to the bottom, there in the field with the light blue background the first line reads "My Account:", now click on "Order Tracking". On the following page you will be asked to fill in your ordernumber as well as first and last name and the e-mail-address as entered when placing the order (therefore I do not know whether this works for orders placed by phone too), finally choose the carrier you expect your package to arrive by - and voila there we are, information about your order ...

In my case (placed earlier this afternoon (well based on CET)), it says that the order status is "active" and that the product is "At distribution center". I understand that this basically means, order taken and there are no problems with it, like it being backordered. In fact I wonder whether they are even packing it all together as "at distribution center" implies this (if this is not the standard info you always get after placing an order).

Hope this helps,

Yours
Dirk

I ordered mine at around 11:45 pm eastern time last night. I just called to verify the order and see if I should have recieved an email. The guy I talked to verified my order and said I should have it in around 8 days. He also said I wont get an email until the item ships since it was ordered over the phone.

I called again today just to make sure once again everything was in order. I ordered by over the phone last night, and I will be getting the golden vinyl, free shipping, and I can expect it in 8 days. Taxes were simply sales tax that applied to my billing address. They will not be emailing until it is shipped.

I just completed my online order at 12:30pm EST. It clearly stated the LE version. I assume that DisneyDirect will pull this item as soon as the limited edition version is gone.

I think all of us who have ordered on the phone or online overnight and today will get the LE version. You have to remember that even if DDirect only gets 1000 sets that there are probably not 1000 of us jumping to get this set the second it comes out. I feel comfortable that everyone who has posted in this thread will get the LE version.

Be sure to ask for Free shipping if you phone order.

I know! I wonder how much they will ask for it on ebay. I am so mad. I just want 1 set. I read everything early yesterday that it wasn't going to be available until next week, but then I start reading online today and now I have missed my chance.

Must be nice to have the money to buy six, huh? I'm lucky I can get one!

I was able to order from DisneyDirect, and I just got off the phone with a woman who verfied that my order did go through.

Maybe DisneyDirect has frozen all sales until they can see how many orders they have versus how many they have in stock. Or, maybe they will be limiting future sales to prevent people from ordering 6 and had to pull the item offline until the computer controls could be put in place. I guess we'll see. Good luck to all the true fans who really want this set.

Looks like Disney has a real gold mine on their hands with this one.

I placed an order via Disney Direct on the web an hour and a half ago. It went through and I got a confirmation email (with the disclaimer that it might not be in stock). When I called on the phone to verify, I was told they are sold out and I did not get one. I just tried to place a phone order 5 minutes ago on the off chance a mistake had been made. No luck. This boxed set is gone.

Try again, this morning it said a 1 week wait, then it was not available, now it says shipping will be in 4 weeks, but it is allowing orders again.
