    MuppetVision's Queue (on Both Coasts)

I've been digging around the forum archives a bit and still haven't found a satisfactory answer for this. From what I understand, the commonly traded MuppetVision 3D instrumental tracks play in a loop predominantly in DCA, but NOT at DHS (or, if they ARE played at DHS, it's extremely softly)...

    Mickey's Toontown Fair Area Music

When comparing the tracks, don't forget that "Thru The Mirror" showed up on the Disneyland 2001 OA. That could possibly be one of your mystery tracks.

The Haunted Mansion CD / LE Box Set [2009]

Thanks for the info, Randy. I listen to a lot of vinyl and CDs, and have been subject to a LOT of "remasters" that sounded much worse than the original releases - you probably know the drill: ridiculous loudness and no-noise that makes music sound like its being played underwater. I was fairly...

The Haunted Mansion CD / LE Box Set [2009]

Randy, will the vinyl be from the new digital master you've just made or from the original analog tapes? I was REALLY disappointed with the sound on the "Walt Disney Takes You To Disneyland" vinyl, as it was clearly from a digital master and parts of it were drowning in no-noise artifacts(which...

The Haunted Mansion CD / LE Box Set [2009]

Maybe I missed the info somewhere else, but is the new ridethrough based solely on Disneyland, or does it include the new WDW audio? Which is to say, does the stretching room creak and have those creepy talking gargoyles? Either way, I'm totally stoked for this release. Now I just have to...

    Adventureland Steel Drum Band

In my experience, the Steel Band's album isn't even remotely rare. I got it on eBay in mint condition for a song. Sounds awesome, by the way. One of my favorite records.

Disneyland Goes to the World's Fair?

If this is what we think it is, I'd gladly upgrade my MP3s. Liner notes would just ice the cake.

    Best. DLRR. Narration. EVER.

Until it supports FLAC and OGG, I could care less.

WDW or DL Forever via iTunes or Disney.com

Musical History is a bargain and sounds fantastic (not just content-wise, but the fidelity is outstanding as well). If only that vinyl that came with it sounded half as good as the CDs... I remember being obsessed with the Forever tracks when they first came out. I was still in high school...

    OT: USB turntables

So, several posts ago, I mentioned that the Adventureland Steel Drum Band album from 1976 was one of my favs. After I posted that, I decided to do a fresh needledrop of it and thought I'd share 1/12th of the wealth. Here's my favorite track on the album, sadly compressed into a 320kbps MP3 for...

I'm not sure the even math matters a whole lot, although my division is more or less even for my files - I record at 96/24 and downsample to 48/24, as at least THAT'S an even split. And I think the 50khz that gets tossed around a lot for vinyl isn't an exact number anyway, given that it's an...

    OT: USB turntables

It's mostly an OCD thing. Higher bitrates like 96khz are, yes, far higher than vinyl actually produces (which is, like you say, 50khz - still higher than CDs, though arguably outside the range of the average human ear). But it does produce an indefinable "something" in my recordings sometimes...

I can say with full confidence that if there's a Randy-mastered CD of something, it's the best version available. That isn't just blowing smoke because he's on the forum sometimes, it's true. He presents that masters just as they sound, without goosing the EQ or using NoNoise to rob the...

    OT: USB turntables

You can do it that way. I know some people that still do. They just find spikes in the waveform or just plain listen by ear. Then you highlight the pop you find (I'm using Audition) and hit "Remove Transient." ClickRepair does a much more thorough job, though, without damaging the music...

There used to be tons of stuff exclusive to vinyl, but Randy is slowly narrowing that gap. Too bad I refuse to buy from iTunes... Most of the stuff I needledrop are pop/rock albums that have superior mastering on vinyl than on CD. I do love playing with Disney Records, though, especially the...

    OT: USB turntables

I had a $100 Denon turntable with a built-in preamp and cart. It sounded meh. I then ended up with a Rega P2, a Audio Technica 440MLa cart, and a PS Audio II preamp. It was about a $400 investment all told (since the preamp and turntable were vintage). I could tell the difference like night...

APE is a solid format, though it has less overall support online and actually requires a bit more processing power, as far as the CPU is concerned. That last bit is really only an issue, though, if you're playing them with a Rockboxed iPod or something.

It's overkill, yeah. But I'm paranoid and vinyl's analog (thus a higher resolution than CD), so I wanna capture as much of the sound as humanly possibly. The 24-bits, though, is what matters the most, because that actually can be heard if your ears are tuned up. The sound can seem more alive...

    OT: USB turntables

It's all in the ears. You can't hear the difference between $100 and $400 - I actually can. I often wish I COULDN'T. I still have the upgrade bug, actually, because I know my current analog rig could sound a lot BETTER. And sadly, five years down the line, there probably still won't be a...
