    Pop-Hit or Disney-Song?

To you, perhaps. I prefer most of the "movie versions" myself as well. Odds are, not to the general public, however. Remember, we're a group with a very specialized interest. I highly doubt our opinions reflect those of the public at large, or even necessarily those of all Disney fans in...

The haunting Walt Disney World theme

Whoa, wait a sec...the original post said that this tune was "used often during the resort's first ten years". That means it was being phased out by the early 80s--before Eisner even showed up, and long before any of the management changes you allude to. I know we all have our favorite...

very OT: Doesn't this just read like the Disney of today?

I know, I know. ;) And obviously, I still read it, or I wouldn't be in here to comment. If he had just said "this thread", I'd have left it alone...but since he said "this board", I had to be a smart-ass :D

Funny, I thought it was to discuss Disney music... :-

    OT: Disney DVD goes Full-frame

Another title has fallen victim to pan-and-scan-only-itis (ok, maybe it's not a disease, but it should be). I was in a Disney Store earlier this week, and saw that White Fang and White Fang 2 have both been released. Weird thing, though--White Fang was pan-and-scan, but the sequel was...

    Sorcery in the Sky?

It was on the WDW Forever system, albeit split into two pieces.

    Disneyland Music Loops

A minor addition, but for completeness' sake: I noticed today, as I was walking through Frontierland at DL, there is a different loop that plays right at the "fort" at the entrance to the land. It's distinct from the normal Frontierland loop, and only seems to play right there--maybe only...

    Disney Park Artists

Dunno if you'd count groups like Blast and Barrage in this--they're more than just "Disney park artists", but they've definitely played there, sometimes for long periods of time. And they certainly have plenty of CDs/DVDs to buy. :)

    Disney Park Artists

Off the top of my head, I remember picking up Four For a Dollar's CD on my last trip to WDW--they do the Beauty & the Beast preshow at the Studios.

    2001 Epcot Entrance Loop

While we're on the topic of Epcot Entrance Loops, any info on the Millennium version would also be appreciated. I had always thought I'd get around to taping at least a live version of it, and then they go and change it after the Millennium was over...bah! Ah well...thanks for any info!

    DJ Stitch

Of course, you're right--we really do need to wait and see the movie, and then we may end up having this whole discussion all over again! And, as I said, I do enjoy Beauty or Mermaid as much as a songless movie such as, say, Atlantis. I think Atlantis' songless score was as appropriate for it...

    DJ Stitch

While I too enjoy the many classic animated musicals that have been written, I think it's an awfully narrow view of "creative and innovative" that only includes those. The Elvis songs may not be new, but this definitely sounds like an innovative way of using them--I mean, who'd have thought of...

    Disneyland Esplanade Playlist Questions

Thanks for the info. Of course, now I even feel more stupid, because I actually have that CD, still sitting here in the shrinkwrap. I guess I ought to listen to what I buy every now and again... :P

    Disneyland Esplanade Playlist Questions

OK, so I feel stupid, but what is this Tokyo DL "Imagineering the Dream" loop that's been referenced in this discussion? I'm assuming it's area music to something, but what is the something? Is this their contribution to 100 Years of Stuff? Thanks...

    Disneyland Anniversay CD Box Set

Well, not to stick up for Disney or anything, but if you sent them the idea unsolicited, it probably wasn't that they shot down your particular idea--they probably didn't even read it! They won't accept any outside ideas, because that opens them up to zillions of potential lawsuits if they ever...

    Disneyland Music Loops

Well, I spent some time in the Hyperion queue today at DCA. This is way way far from complete, and since it was just done from what I recognized, it may have errors, but it's a start, and maybe will inspire others to contribute/correct/validate: They all basically sounded like overtures or...

    Disneyland Music Loops

Re: Aladdin's Oasis BGM on list of "missing" loops I know the Oasis has gone through a number of incarnations, from the dinner show, to a themed restaurant space, to the storytelling it is today. Did all three use the same BGM? Does storytelling even have music? I've only been once, so I...
