"dunno but it's sure been there.. did the cd get released in 92 with the show's premiere? 97 would be when EP had gone and it's included on the fant cd did they release it around then?"

The Disneyland CD was first released when Fantasmic! debuted in 1992, and had that same MSEP track on it. So, I know that the CD has had multiple pressings to keep it availible all these years, but I was not aware of any update to the content on the CD. So, it looks like what Horizons said. "The WDW version of the Fantasmic CD has the sticker."

So, when you said, "Maybe it's meant for the wdw one and disney's marketing is ignorant " Yeah, that pretty much describes it...

So I am heading over to Downtown Disney tomorrow afternoon. Can someone tell me exactly where to look? I am making a two hour drive just to get the CD and have lunch at Earl Of Sandwich. I will be terribly dissapointed if I am unable to get one. Thanks

...the end cap display has never run dry.

Until this morning, that is, when World of Disney sold their last copy! :'(

I have contacted the warehouse people, though, and they tell me that there is a whole shipment of the CDs just waiting to be distributed. However, at present, only the World of Disney store is on the distribution list.

More CDs should be on World of Disney shelves in the next couple of days.

Enjoy the sandwich. There will be no ice cream for dessert, as Ghirardelli is closed for the next couple of days.

I will be terribly dissapointed if I am unable to get one.

Prepare to be disappointed. :(

But on the bright side, the Lego store is open.

The Eiffel Tower 1:300 (42.5" tall) model keeps talking to me every time I walk in the door.

But even with a discount it's still a lotta' ca$h. :(

Is there a number I can call in the morning to see if the CD's have come in? Or would I just be wasting my time?

likely wasting your time. i check because i live across the street but if i lived any sort of distance i wouldn't waste my breath until someone else found it first

Hey, Pigs; check out the Star Wars items on discount at the back register - those are good buys provided you're not flying out of MCO.

Not sure if this has been asked or addressed before but I'll ask anyways. Is there any reason the park CD's have not or will not be released via iTunes? I'm guessing it has something to do with keeping these as park exclusives but I would think that some type of iTunes release in future years is inevitable. There are clearly alot of fans that can't make it to the parks every year (me for example..at least WDW) who would love to get these along with some of the older out of print releases.

i wish randy would chime in on the lack of release though.. if jerm has it there's clearly some delay and lying going on each time i ask "do you have it shipped yet and are holding it back or don't know anything.." and get told by leads and managers they don't know anything.

one CM at the music shop suggested maybe they delayed it to not coincide with the dvd release and then the julie andrews signing the week after, but that's a silly reason i don't think i could buy, it's not like any of these cds ever have some grand debut.

if jerm could please post the SKU number that'd be super :)

As for Randy chiming in, let's remember he specifically said that April 8th is when it was due to be in the warehouse, but he couldn't vouch for when it would actually hit stores. While I'm anxious for both albums to get released, let's not make Randy regret giving us previews and sneak peeks.

Is there any reason the park CD's have not or will not be released via iTunes?

It's simple. Cost-benefit analysis. Disney would never come close to making as much with iTunes releases of the OA's as it does having them be in-park exclusives.

Think about it- Say I own copies of previous versions and the new OA is released to iTunes. Unless I'm a total album completeist (and I imagine most people aren't), am I more likely to buy the entire album or just the few tracks I don't already have? Disney would be making $4 of people who would normally buy it for $17, or whatever outrageous price they sell it for in the parks.

I suppose they could release an album-only version on iTunes, but I think at that point the desire to preserve the novelty of having it be park exclusive would trump whatever additional profit an album-only iTunes release might bring.

Personally, I can't stand having to purchase the same tracks over and over and over again, but I don't see the process changing any time soon.

Jerm (or someone?) has deleted his "There happy now!!!!" post (msg #24214) that contained the cover art for Disneyland's Official Album.

If you look at almandot's post above (msg #24217) you will see that Jerm (or someone?) has removed the photo from Flickr as it is now coming up blank.

There is something really fishy going on with this release.

Perhaps some sort of secret ops team from Disneyland's merchandise division has had Jerm silenced.

Who knows what might be in the trunk of Jerm's car at this very minute!

Well I called WDW Mail Order yesterday to order my copy. The woman knew exactly what album I was reffering to, and of course said that they didn't have them and probably wouldn't for another 2-3 weeks acording to the computer. I mentioned I'd heard they were already popping up in the parks but she said none of them had gone on sale yet and that people have been calling them all the time asking for it over the last couple of days. So I have it on backorder. I guess it's still faster than me driving 2000 miles down to Orlando.

Interestingly, I took the opportunity while I was at it to order the Magic Kingdom Event CD, and the shipping was still $10- total- even though they're shipping the Event CD now and wont be shipping the OA for another couple of weeks. Goodness knows then what they actually pay to ship this stuff (probably not anywhere near $10).

I still have to call DLR DelivEars and get my Disneyland OA- I'm sure I'll get backordered there too. I'm not sure when I'll be down there next though so it's my best bet.
