If there were multiple complaints about an audio problem it would be fixed immediately. The squeaky wheel does get oiled.
I've been complaining about the ALD feed in American Adventure for years. I guess I'm the only one complaining, since nothing has been done about it. Maybe I can recruit some of my MagicMusic buddies to complain as well.

I understand. WDI is subject to the same fiscal restraint as the rest of the company and so SQS trips are unfortunately given a low priority. And yes you are correct, guest complaints to operations is the quickest way to get something fixed. We (WDI) were issued a confidential report monthly regarding guest complaints. If there were multiple complaints about an audio problem it would be fixed immediately. The squeaky wheel does get oiled.

In that case, is anyone else as appalled as I am about the removal of "Summer Magic Medley" from the Main Street, USA BGM? Anyone? Bueller...Bueller...?

At any rate, I wonder if there's been any complaints filed by guests who are hanging around Pioneer Hall for five hours and were very annoyed at a certain segment of that BGM being played over and over. ;)

A few years ago we were staying at a hotel in Galveston and Jimmy Buffett's "You'll Never Work in Dis Bidness Again" kept repeating over and over and over. Apparently we were the only people complaining about it and the staff was unable to do anything about it, so I think we just left then and there.

this might be straying a little off topic but do you think if we got enough people to complain...er... petition about the lack of audio released for WDW we might get somewhere? Obviously the WDWF systems weren't cost efficient but what about a WDWF iTunes release? Or a Musical History of Epcot? Just think about all that music that's just lying around, collecting dust *coughs* Timekeeper! Such a waste.

You're right, I guess you are the only one complaining . I wish I could help but at this point in my career I'm on the outside looking in.

I'm sure most guests don't even pay attention to what's playing over there. But, I was sure annoyed on the multiple attempts I made to record this loop.

This reminds me that I need to go back and finish up the Marina loop. I'm certain it's also in the four to five hour range. The good thing is that my kids have a school function there next month, so I'll be staying for two full days, hopefully giving me enough time to finally finish my Fort Wilderness project.

Good news for Randy though, he can keep that Seasons of the Vine track alive and well he just has to move it to the WDW OA instead of taking up space on the DL one  I didn't realize they played the film during the Food & Wine festival but apparently they do and there were actually like 2 people sitting in it.. That's like 3 more people than ever went into the show in CA.

Reeeeaaaalllllyyyyy...hmmmmm. Where is it playing? This makes me wonder if a recording might be possible via ALD or even induction. No recordings of it from when it played at DCA exist as far as I know (other than live recordings of course). Yet another reason for me to bemoan the fact my trip to WDW in two weeks had to be cancelled...

And I can confirm almandot's comment...when I videotaped it in it's final age I was not only the only one in the theater, but I had to specifically request (repeatedly) that someone come over to operate it.

ya it's in the festival center (wonders of life) in the back right across from the demonstration kitchen

honestly if it's just running nonstop all day there (the doors don't even close they're just left open with the film running), you could just leave a camcorder running for an hour in either the early morning or late evening hours and catch a few showings of the movie, edit out the background noise between showings, and you have a nice little kinescope of it with decent live audio. I can't imagine inducting it to be that much harder either, it's a small theater

Yes, but you need an 20 foot extension. I know you can do it!

It's not the length of the extension, it's how you use it. :p

But seriously, in the case of the original Seasons of the Vine, induction was actually possible since it was a really small theater. I wish I would have tried it, although there was the issue of dealing with the CM at the beginning and end of the film.

Having literally never been inside Wonders of Life (though I did peer through the windows longingly back in July), obviously I can't really speculate as to if a recording is possible. I know Making of Me and Cranium Command both used the ALD system though, so there's a chance there's an ALD feed running in the theater. And I mean, if the theater is small enough, and if there's REALLY no one in there for a cycle, I suspect there is a speaker somewhere that you could reach, or get close enough to get an induction signal.

This is giving me a flashback to the time I ended up alone in the last showing of O'Canada at midnight. In addition to mimicking every annoying guest behavior one could see in a CircleVision film (sitting on the lean rails, running around the theater, commenting on every scene, and singing loudly along to the finale song) I went all the way around the theater with an induction pickup to see if I could get any sort of signal (nope). Memories, memories...

With some photo Werner Weiss of Yesterland posted today of the festival center, I know now that the film is being run in the former Making of Me theater. Making of Me DID have an ALD feed (there are some ALD recordings of it around) so ALD recoding might be possible. The system could just be turned off.

Does anyone know what the Lights Motors Action track is suppose to be? Is it the preshow music or show score? I tried lining some cuts up with some video and it doesn't seem line up... has anyone else attempted this? I want to cut the track up into scenes so I don't have a 10min track.

I haven't, but I assumed it was the preshow music.

It's not the pre-show music. It's always sounded to me like the music from the show, used during the car stunt scenes, though admittedly I've never tried to line it up.

The pre-show music, while featuring similar themes and instrumentation, is actually rather different. It's something I've been wanting to record for a while.

There's more music included in the track than what is played during the show so it could be a combination of both. I don't know if someone is in close contact with Randy, maybe find out what his process was.

The ALD didn't work in WOL when it was opened for the last time (as the WOL).
