Ordering "A Musical History of Disneyland"

At 9:00 p.m. Pacific time it still wasn't on the website. I called the 800 number and ordered from Christy (as did another poster--she's a popular girl tonight :)). Christy said they were getting a lot of orders, but were not sold out of the gold vinyl editions--yet.

Fingers crossed for my mid-May delivery. Good luck to everyone who's ordering.

I was told by the guy who refused to place my order prior to midnight, it would be midnight eastern time. However, I just got off the phone and ordered 2 sets by a very expeditious and fast talking operator. So I should be getting my sets in early to mid May.

How would she know if the gold vinyl version was sold out yet? When I asked on the phone I was told there is no way of knowing. I hope your girl was right but I am not holding my breath

Well I caved and just ordered it over the phone.

I'll check the park in the coming days and if I'm able to pick it up there I'll just cancel with Disney Direct.

Hope springs eternal, I suppose. The good news is she didn't say I wouldn't get the gold vinyl.

Well after reading all this i just had to jump on the phone and order!

All is done! they were quick and very pleasent great customer service,

First operator had to transfer me to the international order centre (im in Australia) than when the int. orderer was taking my details she said "wow! ive never taken an international order before." :p

But all is ordered now can't wait to get it!!! SOO EXCITED!! :D

Thanks for all the info Randy cant wait to hear all your wonderful work!! :)

I called again around 10:45 central time to make sure all my stuff was entered properly. The lady seemed pretty knowledgeable. She informed me that I was indeed down for free shipping, and I asked her twice to make sure I would be getting the golden vinyl - she said I would, and she knew about it. And for those of you who knew about the spring break 10% discount code I read about later tonight on the mouseplanet boards, it doesn't apply to collectibles. Hope this helps.

I just tried to order it -- it seems that they have switched over to some sort of 'after hours' crew, and this crew doesn't have the resources that the regular group does.

I placed my order, but it felt a lot like they were just writing it down for me... we'll see...

(fingers crossed) :)

By the way, international shipping from DisneyDirect is $50!

I specifically changed my holiday plans from Australia to visit DL for one day in early June on the presumption that the set would only be available there. Now I guess it'll be sold out to the eBay vultures by then....

I'll be at WDW from May 19th - any idea if the gold vinyl version would still be available there by this date?

Was anyone else told that the item is backordered?

I assume that just means that the item is not yet shipping. There's no way they could have already sold out and been on backorder when I called around 10:30pm last night.

For what it's worth- I just called and spoke with a customer service agent. She said they had no way of knowing who would receive the limited edition versions, but it was first come, first served. The earlier you order the better your chances (according to her).

I just ordered one online from Disney Direct... at the bottom of the page it says it will ship in one week. There was no charge for shipping, and it says I'm getting the gold vinyl. Looks like a pretty good deal. Hopefully it'll go through as easily as it's seemed to so far. What a happy surprise this morning when I got to work and saw that the CD's were available after checking countless times yesterday!

I ordered mine from disneydirect.com this morning at 9am EST. If you use the product #61499, it's now posted and it mentioned the gold record:

I also ordered a cute Alice in Wonderland plate set!
I can't wait!!

I just spoke to a 'Bill' at DisneyDirect's hotline.

I wanted to call back and see about the gold disc, and he told me when I called, they were so busy that my call got pushed back to an 'overflow' center, and my information would not download until this afternoon or evening, so he couldn't give me any details on it.

I am making an assumption, but if some of our orders do not actually get filtered into the official system until this evening, I wonder if we could be booted out of having the gold disc while anyone calls today would get it instead?

I hope not!

Yeah, I went back and forth on whether to call or to go to the park after all these posts. But the link to Disney Direct that was posted here earlier today finally triggered the itch, so I just placed my order. I still wanna see if I can get it in my hands on my next visit to the park, then cancel my DD order. Just anxious to see it/get it into my hands I guess. (And that Premium discount's nothing to sneeze at.)

Darn the Internet and all these posts getting me excited. :)
