Fantasmic~ as far as I know the only Preshow that DL's Tiki Room has had was the Garden Tikis. We've never had any animated birds (That space was filled by the Barker Bird out in the walking area.)

Boy the stuff you guys are talking about has gotten my head a swimmin'. All the material they could put onto a 40th anniversary Tiki Room Disc! The Barker Bird from DL, The Entire Show from DL, The Old Barker Bird from WDW, The NEW Barker Bird from WDW, The original WDW preshow, THe current WDW show, plus all the goodies from Tokyo...very cool! PLus demo and stuff (I really love demos)

Im wondering if anyone has a picture of the 2nd verson WDW barker Bird, I think its funny that it looked so different from the rest of the birds. He seems to fit in with current show better then with the original.

A CD recording of the current WDW preshow would be fantastic. The comedy is fantastic! Have any of you noticed how much one of the birds sounds like Lionel Hutz from "The Simpsons"?

It looks like the rumor about a Tiki Room CD is just that, a rumor. Unless the usual suspects (Disney folks involved in the HM and Pirates CD's) were totally left out of the loop, there doesn't seem to be a CD coming out. The only possibility is that perhaps, like someone mentioned, they are just reissuing the old Record Album. I assume this could be done without too much hassle.

I know Jesse. Cool guy. He also designed an unofficial Haunted Mansion-based "Leota Charms" t-shirt several months ago.

In case anyone cares,

If the Tiki Room is ever to leave Disneyland, it's final home shall be the Smithsonian.

Without getting into any detail, what I can tell you guys is this... any rumors regarding a new CD release of the "Tiki Room" audio are very closely tied together with the rumors regarding the Forum's other recent hot topic: the replacement for the Disneyland Forever kiosk system.

While I really can't elaborate any further, I can say this: be patient for another few months.

Scary thought...

I've recently been doing some research involving the Smithsonian and they have quite the nefarious reputation. In short, if they can get their hands on it and it doesn't particularly fit their version of history, it can end up generically packaged, stored and queued for cataloging for decades. Well away from "prying eyes"...

Oddly enough, that sounds like the Disney Music and Video Vaults as well... ;D

The Simpsons Lionel Hutz and one of the Talent agent birds were both voiced by Phil Hartman. Don Rickles did the other agent. Don't know which is Phillip and which is Morris.

Oh no. NO WAY you gettin' those UPDATED TIKI birds there!!

Let's all sing, like the birdies sing, tweet-tweet-tweet tweet tweet
Let's all sing like the BIRDIES sing, SWEE sweet sweet sweet sweet

Steve, showing some respect for the ORIGINAL TRUE 1963 Disneyland Orange County TR.

Regarding the Enchanted Tiki Room CD, I highly doubt it will be a special edition. I know that the Haunted Mansion and Pirates Special Edition CDs were released without proper legal clearance as the material was recorded for in-park use only. A tip: If you don't already own these 2 CDs, I would get your copies before it's too late.
As for the Enchanted Tiki Room CD, I will be EXTREMELY happy to get the LP remastered on CD. That is the best we can ask for. Remember that the LP is the COMPLETE show (unlike the current DL edited version). Can you imagine being abe to blast the complete, remastered, stereo version of the show at home or Luau party? And then to top it off, the original B-side as a new, remastered Jungle Cruise ride-thru with terrific music with Camarata, narration by Thurl Ravenscroft, and actual sound effects from the ride! Now that in itself would be a perfect release. Wouldn't it be great if they also released other park LP? I would love to see LPs like WD Takes You to Disneyland, Country Bear Jamboree, It's a Small World (with narration), Golden Horseshoe Revue, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, America Sings, all on CD. I would rather pay $20 for a full, unedited LP on CD than for 10 short Disneyland Forever tracks. Don't you agree?
We can only hope for releases like these in the very near future. ;)

I certainly hope the price point is a bit lower this time around for Disneyland Forever. I really don't want to pay $21 for a 10 track CD again. If they are intending on releasing a lot of the old LP's on this system, then I hope there is a way to combine them to make the longest CD possible for the $$$. I guess we'll find out come October, won't we?
