Y'know, I had a few extra hours and was gonna go to MGM today JUST FOR YOU. Now....forget it! :p

FWIW, I do agree that 99% of the Disney sequels that have come out have sucked. Except, as you said, Toy Story 2. BUT...who did TS2? Pixar.

Re:pirates Teaser and stuff

Hey guys, just checked in (on vacation still in NC with family)

If I may break in with a new thought, did any of you see the new teaser for Pirates of the Carribean? It could be a step up from Country Bears (which I still haven't had the emotional fortitude to watch). Produced by Bruckhiemer starring Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom(& someone else cool?). It may be one glimmer of hope in a dismal situation.

Anyway, I am still way in love with LOTR (took some family to see itlast night for the third time). Why cantthere be more adventure /fantasy pics with soul like this? IMHO its all in the script and then you add cgi.

Anyway happy vacation Bean..
Elvis is still the King, but wasted on L&S (He could have least been found alive after his abduction by the aliens!)

Mike, I'm with you on L&S (sorry Sharon), but have never seen the Happiest Millionaire yet.

Sharon, you guys sound to much like us-
We diddnt get to see DL decked out for the holidays, snow on MS or HMH this year. Sometime, when we return I'll let youknow about the Alladin show at DCA. (reallyfits with the California theme!)

cheers,
Jeff

PS Anyone pick up the new DVDs in the tins?

Jeff-

Hope you're having fun in NC!

Nope...STILL never got to see the Osborne Lights and it's too late now. Just as well though...they NEVER change 'em and I find if I go more than once, I wind up being "MGM'd out," where I have to wait months and months before I feel like I wasn't "just there." I'll see 'em next year.

Jeff,

I got Mickey Mouse in Black & White for Christmas and it is very well done. It's the same collection of shorts that appeared in the laserdisc box set several years ago except that they've added one more - "The Karnival Kid". But almost all of the bonus material is brand new.

Interestingly, unlike all of the previous Treasures titles, they do not use original music from the films on the title menus. Instead, newly recorded period music is used instead. I wonder if they thought that the original scores didn't sound good enough to use. What they came up with just doesn't quite fit right, especially when compared to the Mickey Mouse in Living Color and Silly Symphonies DVDs.

My birthday's coming up in a couple weeks and I have a strange feeling I might get the Goofy and Walt Disney Studios titles.

Shane

PS: Have you seen The Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition DVD? It is awesome!

And i would like to add that "The Karnival Kid" is worth the price of the set. It's also great to have the uncensored version of "Steamboat Willie"! I have very little respect for Disney's current management but I'll give them credit for a job well done on this series. I also suggest you see "Treasure Planet" if you haven't already as it is an unappreciate masterpiece that the fools don't know how to market.

Thanks Shane. I'll have to pick it up ..as soon as I refianance the house (you think I'm kidding) DL admission went up 2$ this week, that 38% since 94, Indy being the last major attraction.

SFM -I enjoyed Treasure Planet but I wasn't expecting to. Not as good as the earlier modern day classics to me, but enjoyable entertainment. Now where near the creative edge of LOTR though. The 4 disc FOTR set is woderful, a must see to everyone going out to view the Two Towers (Great job Eisner on letting it get away to New Line, I'm sure you would have botched it up though)
Jeff

Back to the concept of the "New Disney" version of the Bible:

how about Pain & Panic from Hunchback as Cain & Abel?

...and Michael Banks as the prodigal son?

This is too easy, eh? ;D

Re:Jeff 's Hawaiin Disneyland story

Ok, ;D
Just a short little story from my recent trip to Hawaii.

You see Mrs. Jeff has been negotitating out of a trip to WDW for some time now, and I conceded that since we have "The resort" next door now that we can take some vacations away from a Disney themes for a while.

So we ended up in Wakiki.
No Disney connection right? just wait.

It was the fourth day .. suntanned and relaxed we were strolling up Hammakan..er Hammma..
..the main boulevard next to the beach and we were filtering through the oncoming pedestrian traffic of Asian tourists when who do I perchance to see about 5 feet in front us?

Billy Hill!!

I said "Billy HILL!! I came 3000 miles and I still see someone from DL?"

He (immediately getting into the Elvis character) "Wo I 'm not Billy Hill. I'm a Billy Joel impersonator!"

We exchanged brief pleasntries and wished he and his lady friend a good vacation.

Afterwards I let Mrs. Jeff know that you cant hide from the mouse :-*! (Lilo & Stich were very pervasive too, I just wish I liked the movie better)

I am still holding onto our mileage for that long weekend trip to FL (Just when does Mission Space open?)

end of story

(I know Bean this is anticlimatic ... But i wouldn't know Off Kilter if they wore a sign)

You want "can't get away from them?" Go to the Adventurers Club several nights a week for the past 2.5 years, preceeded by every night of every vacation to WDW for 8 years before that. Then watch local Central FL television commercials...or The Patriot...or older Nickelodeon TV shows...or be married to a pharmacist in a store some of the CM's frequent .

So didja go to Hilo Hattie? We're getting one next month and I can hardly wait!

-Sharon-

I knew that we would get another topic if we just waited long enough. Jeff...didn't I tell you that I wept like a baby the one and only time that I experienced Billy Hill. Memories of the classic Golden Horseshoe show flooded my mind. The spirit of Wall Boag turned up missing. The crowd seemed to enjoy the Beach Boys medley, however.

So Jeff...any idea when the 20K exhibit is coming back? Speaking of celebrity sightings...have you seen Al Lutz yet? I would love to come to DL, but the lure of DCA is not strong.

If you should ever take Mr.s Jeff to WDW make sure to bring enough money to do Victoria and Albert's Chefs Table.

Sharon-

"So didja go to Hilo Hattie?" - Nope we have one over at the Block (entertainment complex near Crystal cathedral, about 2 miles from DL) Lotsa cool but expensive stuff that you can get cheaper on location in HA. We also have a Ron Jons if I need a Coco Beach fix.

no wonder you have all 3 Karaoke CDs!!
You need to have your own personal pharmacist.. ;D
(teasing) I really am jealous about the Adv, Club! Kungaloosh Sharon!

---------------
and Yes Bean you mentioned the tears at Billy Hill during one of me first chats with you.
If you go on Thursdays they have the GHR, last I looked. Unless Anne Hamburger has killed it with another inane Woody roundup show.

I'll take the V&A under advisement for sure. Last time our Whispering Canyon cafe was tops.
Maybe I'll do Napa Rose at Grand Californian for Anniversary this May and let you know how it is.

"So Jeff...any idea when the 20K exhibit is coming back?
We can only dream... maybe even subs for 50th!

Speaking of celebrity sightings...have you seen Al Lutz yet? The great one is only seen in the safety fil at Soarin (not really)

Yeah I havent been since Alladin opened up and saw it snow in November.. and its a 15 minute drive.

Jeff

Does anyone KNOW anything about Mission Space? :-[

Now is The Time!

There is a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow,
(if you dont belive me go to the old COP bldg at DL and you can see how guests have been transformed into consumers!)

I knew it was only a matter of time before this thread came back with a mouse vengeance! ;D

Okay everybody! Sing along!!!

There's a great big beautiful tomorrow
Shinin' at the end of ev'ry day
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow
And tomorrow's just a dream away

Man has a dream and that's the start
He follows his dream with mind and heart
And when it becomes a reality
It's a dream come true for you and me

So there's a great big beautiful tomorrow

Oh quit yer whining and bellyaching...you don't post here like you used to so you lose your topic. You knew the prerequisites of having your own topic and you blew it.

There are a lot of "Jeffs" out there. THIS one is for Bean Counter and a different Jeff. Neener neener neener .
