i hope someone listens to this

Bean, your self-control in not selfishly bumping the "Jeff & Bean Counter's Own Topic" thread back to the top is stunning!

Scott, throughout this site's history there have been threads about park attractions. bbowling is correct--once the attraction is gone, the music is gone as well, except for park historians.

So much good Disney park music is no longer available in the parks! And that is a shame.

And, there are so few new WDW attractions that feature new, significant music that many of us bemoan the fact that the classic attractions are slowly and surely being removed to make room for more "off-the shelf"-type amusement rides.

For many of us ol' regulars here, it is the theme park music that drives our interest. The theme park music itself, of course, driven by the animated feature songs and scores as well as the original tunes and arrangements featured in the rides, attractions and parades.

I don't pretend to speak for Trent, but anyone with anything to contribute about Disney music/parks/movies -- because it ALL is about the music ;D -- has always been welcome!

Flaming and negative posts usually don't much of a shelf life.

I agree with you 100% that there hasn't been much to write about recently pertaining to Disney music. THAT is our common problem -- our common enemy, if you will -- which needs to be dealt with.

Mike, for not speaking for me you've done a pretty good job! And Sharon too...

1. Park music has always been the backbone of this forum because there is so much of it out there but so little of it has been officially released.

2. Theme Park music is a dying breed it seems. Every new attraction that closes (such as Carousel of Progress or many of the old Epcot attractions) is one more nail in the coffin of the days of catchy tunes, theme songs, and music of every type eminating out of ever facet of the Disney parks.

3. There really _isn't_ a lot of Disney music news or topics out there right now. If this forum forced only on topic posts it would be all but dead.

4. With that said, I don't want to see people get carried away with off-topic posts. That's why I appreciate you guys coming in at some point of most discussions to say, "Let's get this post on topic". I've considered creating a second non-music forum, but our small little community here is running pretty well and I think splitting up the discussions might not help things. (Comments on that anyone?).

5. It might help if people appended [OT] to the end of off-topic posts and that way people that are only interested in strictly disney music related topics can skip them.

At least Trent was listening...

I will second the good job on the argumentation by Sharon and Mike.

...and Trent I as only one voice , don't see a need for this community to have another forum.

[If I need to rant off topic I can just go to this nice little thread Sharon started for me and DBC. And besides most of the regulars seem to accept that most of my posts are usually OT.. but I will try to improve by the suggested OT] Anyway by now, most of us realize that we are biding our time until WDR releases something worth our $. The opinions expresed here on the board are worth more to me than any other review or newsgroup (I am not kidding).

I see this little group as a tight knit group of fans of REAL Disney Music. That one devotion is the comman bond and creates , excuse the pun, harmony between most of us. I value a post that lets me know about other topics (attractions, hotels, Disney Inc., etc). The opinions of some VERY knowledgable fans plus the former or curent CM's and I truly value because we come from a similar place. Such harmony is all to rare in a world where toleration is what most settle for.

Respectfully,
Jeff in Orange County

PS If I have offended anyone in the past by by caustic sarcasm I truly apologize. What the structure of the forum lacks is the wiggle of the eyebrow and wry smile I'm known to give by my consistent teasing. All to often It comes off as offensive in my dry text. (no matter how many smilies I tag on)

Trent-

I'm with Jeff..our community is relatively small and I don't think we really need a sub-community simply for OT stuff. If people begin a topic by marking it OT, that's fine...but unfortunately for the self-imposed Topic Cops out there, discussions DO occasionally digress to Non-Music discussions. I think the sequence of events is called "being human" .

Is there a way that we can change a topic title to reflect sudden, dastardly Non-Disney-Music discussion for the satisfaction of the purists out there?

OT OT OT OT OT just in casebbowling is still reading (wink)

Jeesh, a guy can't even be serious for a moment.

And Bill, ss someone said to Audie Murphy
