Actually, when you own 500+ Disney CDs, some people think it's more of a sickness than something to be proud of. I mean, Mariachi Cobre? Trinidad & Tobago Showboat Steel Orchestra? Every "Best of Disney" known to man? And let's not forget Toy Story, which had a grand total of THREE songs that actually had words...which I own in 5 languages. 4 of which I don't speak.

Now wait a sec--Mariachi Cobre? That's great traditional Mexican music(actually don't have any of their CD's yet, always have missed them).
I love Caribbean steel drums--is that Trinidad and Tobago CD Disney, Sharon?
Oh, the weather outside is frightful,.......with about 2 feet of snow so far, that's an understatement!

Yeah, that's what Trinidad & Tobago is. I think I bought their CD in DL a few years ago. It's on [glow=red,2,300]THE PILE[/glow]. Mariachi Cobre, Billy Hill & The Hillbillies, Cast in Bronze etc...all are very good groups, but are not music that I would have bought if they weren't "Disney Related." Only one I would have gotten is Toxic Audio (who was known as The Voiceovers when they were opening for B&TB at MGM in the late 1990's) and I didn't start liking them until years after their stint with Disney was done.

Blind Boys
Hey Sharon, I know we've wandered away from the Haunted Mansion, but speaking of Disney-related CD's, my latest find is the Blind Boys of Alabama. I wasn't familiar with them before hearing them in Brother Bear("Welcome"), but they've apparently been around for quite a while. I liked their sound, saw their new Christmas CD in Borders a while back, and picked it up-- it's quite good--gospel-based, with help from a motley crew, such as Tom Waits, Richard Thompson, and Chrissie Hynde. My favorite track, though, is a ripping rendition of "Born in Bethlehem," a traditional song that I actually wasn't familiar with(my wife was)........ANYWAY--not Pile material, if you're looking for some decent Disney-related stuff......ho-ho-ho.......

Thanks but I REALLY gotta draw the line somewhere. CDs of people who are/were performers at Disney parks is one thing...CDs of people who were on other Disney CDs is just.....WAY too over the line for me . I liked the Blind Boys of Alabama in Brother Bear too but not enough to buy their CDs, I don't think. At least not yet...but my tastes are still maturing .
