By space mountain with countdown, do you mean the score giacciano released to the online radio station that got sent around or the score with effects used in the ride? What everybody's really wanting is the one from the ride with the launch tunnel sound effects and the countdown that's actually used in the ride, not from the original score.

Well I have not been to DL since last year and I cannot recall if the sound effect are the same, but I think this is the ride version.

Of note, I noticed in my copy that there is a typo on the liner booklet notes that has the "Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" medley as being from It's a Small World vice Critter Country. I wonder if this might be the release hold up while they print corrected version?

Very doubtful that a print error would hold up the DL OA... Many OA's over the years have included numerous errors including the recent Musical History of Disneyland...

...And this still hasn't been released at DL yet. Though I didn't see any of last years OA there last night.

The ride version would include things like "Countdown 77 this is mission control, we are initiating power transfer in 3.. 2.. 1.. Power levels at maximum... sending launch coordinates " And then the full launch countdown from 10.

The giacchino is instrumental then it has a monotone launch count. And it's missing all the sound effects during the prelaunch and during the ride itself, as well as that part where they bring in a heavy guitar.

Personally, I'd be annoyed if the score was marred by sound effects. Then again, I'm a film score nerd to begin with...

I wonder if Randy has any plans on using iTunes to also distribute the theme park OA's? Hell, I would much rather buy them over itunes than have to drive an hour to pick one of them up.

I'm surprised no one has commented yet on Disc 2 Track 12, "A Bug's Life Suite". Is this the queue area music for the 3d film or music from Flik's Fun Fair?

The 50th 2 CD set has (finally) shown up in the Disney Outlet store here in Las Vegas so I'm guessing the new DL/DCA OA will be hitting the shelves soon (if it hasn't already) any word from California locals?

I picked up my copy last night at the wonderland music store at Disneyland. I have to say, dissapointed. To answer a few questions you all had about what tracks included what...

Pirataes - same as all the other OA's
Space Mnt - Full track (minus sound effects)
Monsters Inc - Queue Music track
Mansion - same
Tomorrowland Welcome - same track as WDW OA.
Bug's life suite - Bug's land area bgm
HISTA - same track as wdw OA

thats about it....

You were not clear though - Is Splash the medley that was released previousy, or does it have the actual (and never commercially released) song used on the approach to C-Lift? The dirge-ish tune sung by the mothers to their babies about how Br'er Rabbit is caught and doomed...

Also - Does Br'er Bever sing in this medley like he did in the last one? Because Br'er Bever does not even have a speaking role in the Disneyland attraction (not to mention he's located in the Welcome Home finale seen instead!) Does it include Br'er Gator singing "Why don't you take me along" ?

Yep, I saw the New OA at the park last night as well. I haven't picked one up yet, but I have to say this is the worst cover they've ever done. For those that have complained about how juvenile Disney's domestic CD covers usually are, especially when compared to Tokyo's releases, this one is the worst yet. It's such a bland boring, unimaginative design. It looks like a still from a Powerpoint presentation. Mind you its also the new cover for the current DL souvenir guide and DVD, so chances are somebody put it together quick and just decided to slap it on everything. It's a plain pink/white gradation with 5 or 6 pictures of the park in simple rectangular outlines and the Disneyland font/logo on it. All typical stock photos, and no artistic design whatsoever. If someone who has it wants to upload it, the photo will tell you far more than my words could.

darnit. you saw it? i went and checked but didn't see it. they'd removed all the 50th albums from the stores(except the music store obviously) and hadn't replaced them with anything. Music store didn't appear to have a new OA either.

Well by the sound of things, you could have just bought the 50th album and ended up with the same thing :p

The Splash Mountain Medley is updated to include the actual C-Lift approach scene music.

Fantastic! Finally a shred of good news about this album.

After just listening to the new Splash track, I am glad as I've said to hear the proper C-Lift approach music included, but disappointed that Br'er Gator singing "Why don't you take me along" prior to the dip drop was once again omitted. Poor Br'er Gator - why does everyone hate him?

You know- one other Splash-related observation - and this is for both parks, not just Disneyland's album. Why can they never get the finale order correct? It's *always* started with Br'er Rabbit's Home Sweet Home version of Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, *then* to the singing chickens on the Zip-A-Dee-Lady. I just don't get why these mixes have to be so mixed up.

Heh does it include the hedgehog singing "he's looking for, a little more adventure but he's heading for" etc from wdw again?

See here's the thing - I sit down with the intent of just listening, and I get slammed with IMs from all these people I've been trying to get in touch with for days but have been away. I don't *think* Br'er Porkupine was in it this time - but yeah, that always annoyed me that he was included over and over without even a voice in the CA ride! (for those that don't know, he's right after the Leavin' Home scene in Florida, but not found until just the beginning of the finale in California).

I'm going through things now - but I can tell you, Remember *is* actually the new show narration, not the 50th. I have to say, given the amount of rehash, I'm surprised they bothered to include this. Pirates, as said, is the same. Why even bother commenting on the Haunted Mansion? Ha! As someone said, Space Mountain is identical to the track we all found floating online a few months back. The Monsters track has a nice lounge-y sound to it, but I suppose that's how the movie music was to begin with. The Bugs Suite is quite enjoyable - a BGM clip from DCA.

Otherwise I really haven't come accross anything worth talking to. Another lack-luster album if you ask me (though I certainly can't fault Disneyland like I can WDW - that 50th set last year was nothing shy of amazing, and obviously hard to follow up). Either way, mark this one up for definitely a download CD!
