Space Mountain

The "RCA Leads The Way" or (Here's to the Future, the songs actual name) was always used untill the rehab in 1985. The "Let your Dreams lead the way" was never used as RCA was always it's sponsor. It was probably recorded "just in case" RCA didn't renew it's sponsorship.
Originally the song "Here's to the Future" also played right as guests entered the Space Mountain portal from Tomorrowland, before getting into the star and zig zag tunnels. At some point this was cut off prior to the 1985 rehab.

Also, "Here's To The Future" was also played at the very entry of the Space Mountain Tomorrowland portal. This was cut several years before the 1985 rehab.

Here's a picture of the entry portal during it's firts year 1974-75

Do you have any information about the third song that played in the most current Space Mountain queue? Was it composed for Disney and, if so, do you have any idea why it was not offered for sale on Walt Disney World Forever?

It's in my top 10, I mean top 5, pieces of park audio that I would love to add to my collection.

Walt Disney World's Space Mountain has a new soundtrack! B)

Walt Disney Imagineering has added an exclusive new composition that plays with varying sound effects throughout all "flights" utilizing a system of 60 newly installed speakers. "Starry-O-Phonic Sound" compliments a slew of enhancements that debuted on Space Mountain last year, including new lighting, storyline elements, and updated decor. The new music was composed specifically for the Magic Kingdom attraction by Mike Brassell.

Here's a special message from The Space Mountain Project Team:

Ah, dang-it, now I'll definitely have to ride on my fall trip.
Every time I board Space Mountain, I wonder why--usually somewhere around the final drop...
B)

I have to admit, the noiseless version was just not as much fun. Even if there is no sound in space.

I was able to experience Starry-O-Phonic Sound last night. Amazing fun! All involved are to be congratulated! For me, though, as a lover of surf guitar and '50s-'60s sci-fi, they're never going to be able to top 1996's Dick Dale/Camille Saint-Saëns soundtrack for Disneyland's Space Mountain.

Now that Disneyland is my "home" park, I have gotten used to Giacchino's terrific score for Space Mountain. During my recent trip to WDW, I found the lack of musical accompaniment left me with the feeling that something was missing. Naturally, the soundtrack was added just after my trip. I have to say, though, that based on the clip posted here, Disneyland still has the upper hand in the audio department.

I do think it's an improvement, but I wish there were more speakers, so you can hear the soundtrack more clearly throughout the adventure.
