Disneyland did not have the new OA as of tonight.

I think most people on this board don't have the ear to distinguish a good mp3 from a CD track. I don't. Yes, a few here are adament about the quality of a track. Even so, when the choices are a totally new track, or a slight upgrade of a track you already have, I'd vote for the new track. However I know theres a ton of red tape involved in this sort of thing and while I'm disappointed that these tracks may be nothing new to me, It's still nice that many people who didn't have them will now have the chance.

Long live Bruce Broughton!

I, for one, own the original promo cd put out by Bruce Broughton that has the "overture" to Ellen's Energy Adventure, so I have been listening to it in cd quality for years. It is a wonderful track, and I'm glad more people will have a chance to obtain it now, but I'm still very disappointed that the one piece that has been previously released is the same piece that appears on the OA. I know we are in the minority, and probably very few people on the planet even care about this issue at all.

My son and I are amongst the Bruce Broughton fans on this site, awaiting a significant release of his theme park music. I haven't heard the promo release track of Ellen's Energy Adventure, so that sounds interesting, though apparently not something new to everyone. Aside from that track, a brief--1:47 minutes--appearance of Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, and the Dinosaur! track(James Newton Howard score?).....I'm not experiencing a life-altering moment here.

Thanks, WDW; I actually mentioned James Newton Howard as I was wondering if the Dinosaur! track might simply be a compilation of selections from his film score, some of which plays in the queue area. Is there musical scoring while you're in the Time Rover?

I have now heard the new tracks, and as for Ellen and HISTA, they both sound better than the previously released material. The Ellen track on the promo cd had a tinny sound, and on the new OA, it sounds significantly fuller and richer, with deeper bass. The HISTA track is also much improved in sound quality over the earlier promo track. So the news is not all bad.

The Journey Into Imagination track is delightful -- too short though, and it is GREAT to hear "Legacy" in all its sonic glory. Same complaint though -- I want more! Stitch's "Galactic Anthem" is a catchy little fanfare by Mark McKenzie. I would say for fans of the parks' music, this year's release is a must-buy (I say this having passed on last year's album). And let's hope for more good things to come in 2007 (such as a real EEA "medley"!).

heres hoping for these next year:

1. ellen's energy adventure - film music
2. mission: space - ride music
3. dinosaur - preshow film video music
4. great movie ride - ride music
5. spaceship earth - entire finale music
6. sounds dangerous - theme
7. american adventure - unreleased music
8. walt disney world railroad - music only
9. reflections of china
10. the enchanted tiki room - under new management - unreleased music

What I'm hoping for for next year are as follows:

-Mickey's PhilharMagic: Complete Show Score
-El Rio del Tiempo
-Muppet-Vision 3D: a lobby BGM track, preferabbly "The Muppet Show Theme"
-A different Sonny Eclipse song (maybe "I Love You")
-A new Toontown Fair song (like "Donald Ducked Out on Me" or "The Cornelius Coot Boot-Scoot Boogie")
-A Cinderella's Golden Carousel track
-A Liberty Square BGM piece
-Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life for Me, updated to include the new music added during the rehabs and Jack Sparrow's version of the song
-A Big Thunder Mountain Queue BGM piece (like "West of the Wide Missouri")
-A new Main Street BGM track (like "Summer Magic" or "Beautiful Beulah")
-"Big Blue World" from Nemo's Undersea Adventure"
-A Camp Minnie-Mickey BGM track (like "Give a Little Whistle")

Thanks, Dr. Know --- also, the new Tomorrowland track ("Welcome to Tomorrowland") *does not play* in the park. It seems to have been cut from the loop....

...still nice and very reminiscent of what actually plays, though.

OK, Jim, you're starting to sell me on this year's release, but it's getting harder to justify a purchase for a few tracks, especially now that the OA has become a 2-CD set--certainly more truly new music is needed. What about the Dinosaur! track--I need more justification!
