iTunes/Park Cd question for Randy

I always found "Welcome to Tomorrowland" to be a strange addition to the OA.

I, as well, can't wait to see what is included on both OAs.

Hey Randy,

Will the American Idol Theme be featured on the next official album? ;D Sorry, I just had to ask. J/k

Did Disney pick up Muppet babies? I think the agreement with Henson only covered the Muppets proper. Muppet Babies was produced with Marvel, so I would suspect it's not part of the agreement.
The Marvel guys were the production team, but Marvel (for some odd reason) doesn't retain the rights or something to that effect. It's not their property, they just helped to get it out the door.

Disney actually DID pick up the Muppet Babies, back in 2004, along with Classic Muppets and Bear in the Big Blue House. It SHOULD be common knowledge that anything Classic Muppets-related (save for pre-TMS stuff, that stuff is retained by their respective owners, apparently) is owned by Disney now. Why it isn't is totally and completely beyond my comprehension.

Very exciting news about the new releases (yeah, it's a month old, but I just found out about it). I hope that the Marni Nixon version of the "Mary Poppins" songs is on the release list for this year.

29 more days till the release date! the tension is building for me. i cannot wait to see what goodies randy has in store for us this year. i am hoping for more ellen's energy adventure or mission: space music.

!!!Randy!!!!! --- would it be possible to clear two tracks from EEA for next years official album? i found that "no easy answers" and "solar energy" combined together would be the same length, time wise, as the "medley" track from EEA on the current OA! this would please me and many others if it is possible! ;D ;D

How about another Sonny Eclipse tune? Another twenty years or so of official albums ... and we might actually be able to put together the whole show (minus the jokes).

Disney missing out on a merchandise opportunity? It boggles the mind! I can't believe they're not already selling the entire Sonny Eclipse show (with jokes) on CD at Mickey's Star Traders, Merchant of Venus, and other Magic Kingdom locations.

Heck, they've already got the cover art done for them...

Or, if one goes by what Randy said in another post, you could just say; "Here, boy! Here boy! Com'ere, Randy....there's a good boy, have a Scooby-snack!". ;D

As I alluded to in the ?History of the Official Album? thread back on February 15th, there may not be an updated Official Album next year.

Also, once I include something representing an attraction (with direct input from WDI), I probably won?t revisit that attraction unless something significant is added or changed, and again only with WDI?s blessing (and being able to obtain the proper clearances).

?Ellen?s Energy Adventure? is a good example. There?s a great deal of music throughout the attraction. How do you highlight these works? Both WDI and I decided that the ?Overture? (or ?Load? music) was a great track in itself, and hit upon most if not all of Mr. Broughton?s themes and therefore was an excellent way to represent the attraction?s entire score as opposed to a singular section of it.

Once an attraction is represented, is it not better to spend the time and obtain the proper clearances on attractions that have yet to have ?their day? on the album?

Hope that answers your question,

Randy

Mr Randy,
Someday I would love to hear the whole story about how these official albums come together. From the very first discussion to the finished product. I would have many questions in that regard such as how does a track get on the CD? Does WDI tell you specifically what they want or do they leave it up to you and then they either approve or disapprove? If you are not at liberty to speak of the process then thats cool but I would find it most interesting.

--- NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! "it's as if a thousand voices cried out and were then suddenly silenced!"

--- is it posssible to at least replace the current medley with the other load music which represents even more of broughtons themes for the attraction? "pre-show spill" not to be confused with "pre-show fill", which was on last years cd.

Once an attraction is represented, is it not better to spend the time and obtain the proper clearances on attractions that have yet to have ?their day? on the album?

--- yes it is but for completists we want all the music! we love it so much. please keep up the great work randy we all appreciate it very much so!!!

So, does that mean no Scooby-Snack? :'(

Hey even the songs from scooby doo episodes are available ;P

/i took a couple of inductions, i added a touch of a bootleg, sprinkle some youtube clips around it and a rehearsal track from a friend that i know. one file and a whole lot of edits is my recipe, all that couldn't make up a source track on an OA from our pal Randy

I feel kinda bad though. :p I don't know anything about the guy, I wasn't really aware of his music so didn't care particularly either way and now I've grown to dread even hearing about him in a thread. ;)

Ok i just wiki'd him and it says he did the intro to Tiny Toons? All right I'm hooked. Where can I sign the petition. MORE BROUGHTON!!!

I agree with this. I'd rather hear things not released before (officially, anyway). Maybe once an attraction track has been on several OA's, then it's time to replace it, but Ellen's Energy Adventure just got on, so it's not like it needs to be replaced right away. Personally, I wish we could get past WDW attractions, like the Musical History set.

As time goes by, it's harder to justify including that older stuff since it's out of most people's memories, and it's not something that could be put on a current Official Album. I did appreciate Randy's "best of" album from WDW during DL's 50th. I remember back then he said that it would have been nice to do a retrospective set, but there just wasn't time to focus on it, since everthing was aimed at DL. Maybe for a WDW anniversary we'll get something???

Ok, well, I'll give you Timekeeper, since that theme has never appeared officialy. Too bad its a defunct attraction at all resorts around the world....it's chances of appearing on a current OA are probably pretty slim.

yes i agree too, but the track that was released for ellen had already been released from intrada records on a 5 cd promo set years ago by bruce broughton limited to 500 copies.
