Holiday Wishes CD released this past week

Rick,

The Disney/MGM studios parade uses the same cars as the regular parade. They are just gussied up for the holidays. Some of the dancers also wear Christmas outfits.

One funny section is the Kermit-Miss Piggy car, which is bursting with presents, all addressed "From Moi, to Moi." Dancers are also following the car, carrying towers of more gifts, almost dropping them, etc.

The idea is that it's a Hollywood Christmas parade and there are prerecorded host voiceovers that play in the music (like the conceit of the regular parade.)

The music is a medley of classic Christmas carols, sung by a Disney-type chorus. (I'm sure you'd like it.) The same medley plays for each loop, and then there is a finale medley at the parade's end.

The Animal Kingdom parade is the Jammin' Jungle Parade, again dressed up for Christmas. For example, instead of Donald's boat blowing bubbles, it blows snow. He is making a snowman.

The music of the character floats is all themed to Christmas songs. Donald's is Frosty the Snowman, for example. One cool part is the drumming in between the character floats is adapted to the Christmas song featured. So you hear an African drumming version of Frosty.

The main song used at the beginning of the parade and the end is the Jammin' Jungle song, with different lyrics. For example, regular: "We're jammin' in the jungle to the rhythm of one" becomes "It's a jingle, jangle, jungle full of holiday fun." Mickey also has different lines and speaks about everyone coming together to enjoy the festive season.

Both makeovers are really well done. It's not as if they just put a Santa hat on a float and called it new. The parades really stand on their own and work well as holiday offerings.

And, Dirk, I hope too they can release the Halloween version of Wishes!

I got my copy today at Mouse Gear at Epcot. It was mixed in with the other CD's and there were like 5 copies left. Also got to experience holidays at Epcot for the first time ever. It was awesome!

is anyone experiencing problems when ordering this over the phone with WDW merchandising?

do they know what you are asking for, or do they sound like they don't know what this cd is? are they available, or they telling people sold out, as someone seemed to say before?

I bought mine at World of Disney in Downtown Disney. The cast member told me they had "a shipment" the night before but were already sold out. And there weren't any copies in the regular CD area. I managed to find my copy (with about 3 others) on a small rack near the registers in Housewares.

I thought it boded well that the CD is selling so quickly. That shows people will buy these music releases. Also, if they are buying them in Downtown Disney (or Epcot, for that matter) then those aren't impulse buys at the Magic Kingdom right after seeing the show. People are remembering the show and music and then picking up the CD. A good incentive for future releases! Fingers crossed.

Mickey's Mercantile in the Grand Floridian (on the second floor, just as you exit the monorail) has about 7 copies of the CD, in case anybody's looking for it or calling mail order about it.

I bought mine at World Of Disney. They had them on a table close by where the DVD and other cd's usually are in the center of the store. Got home and just listened to it.....

My opinion? Wonderful! Wonderful! Very heartwarming, well written and produced soundtrack for the MK's newest holiday fireworks. Get your kleenex box out as Jiminy Cricket's words and powerful musical punch will melt the scroogieast of hearts into sobbing oblivion. A must have for music fans of the park.
Then fasten your seat belts...as Broadway's Dreamgirl Diva, Ms. Jennifer Holliday (no pun intended) delivers a powerhouse (if a bit vocally acrobatic) performance on the exit music's pop version of "Xmas All Around Us". A song that deserves radio play.
A little icing on the cake though unnecesary...is the "Jingle Jungle Parade" soundtrack. No biggie...I'll take that too for my $14.98 +tax.

Get your copy before the holidays are history...then hug someone close to you as you listen...

For those that have ordered the cd from WDW merchandising over the phone- what was the total for the order?

did it come out to less than Laughingplacestore's price?
or about the same?

It comes out to be a LOT less than laughingplace.com price; The CD is only $15, in order for it to be equal to LP's price, shipping would have to be $13, which Disney does not charge.

Howdy people,

The disc arrived today and we plan to listen to it tonight when we go across the lake ....

The picture was taken one year ago on Christmas day 2004...goes to show you that ... you never know what tomorrow may bring.

Enjoy life & Merry Christmas!

Finally got my CD in. My biggest complaint is the cover art. It's cute enough and all, but you would think that a better marketing campaign would have been to have the art actually depict the show Wishes. Seems some guests might pick it up thinking it's a "Mickey and gang sing holiday favorites" kinda package. I guess if its selling well enough, though... I did like the idea of having a Spaceship Earth ornament. :)

My favorite part of the CD? Track 4, as the second half of this track is also used at Disneyland as part of their small world evening clock chime. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, I suggest you hang out around the small world mall just after the clock parade. Ridiculously awesome show!

Yeah, the cover art had me scratching my head a bit, too. At least maybe a photo of fireworks or something would be appropriate.

And I still haven't seen that nighttime IASW thing... never been brave enough to brave the crowds in that area at night except for a quick glimpse of the lights. :p

They sell a Spaceship Earth ornament?! Where? And is it just the sphere or does it have that wand as well?
