DL's Winnie the Pooh attraction

No one seems to be comparing this to the best Pooh dark ride - TDL's "Pooh's Hunny Hunt". We actually made the whole room bounce with Tigger on that one!

I think nobody's comparing it because A.) Many of us have never been on it to compare. OR...B.) DL's new Pooh ride is not in the same league as TDL's Pooh's Hunny Hunt. OR C.) Both of the above.

Personally, I go with B. Even though I've not been on it, I know enough about it to know that DL's and WDW's Pooh rides are not as elaborate. Although I really think WDW's is a cute ride and I love the "Floody Place" room.

But to me it's like comparing the Indiana Jones Adventure to DLP's Indiana Jones coaster...

Several other discussion boards are discussing how woefully inadequate this pooh is, but to be fair they are trying only to compare it to WDW, which it more closely resembles. We're even being shouted down for that. Tokyo's looks spectacular, and while we would have loved to have it, you can't help but notice that they didn't even give us FL's

X-S...since you've ridden Disneyland's new Pooh ride, can you tell me something? I was looking at pictures of it on several sites today and noticed that the Pooh (and his pals) figures look pretty static even though they're fully sculpted. Did you notice if any of them move, as in AA movement, or are they all just fiberglass static figures that might turn, or bob up and down?

No none of them are AA's but they are equal to the Fantasyland dark ride figures. Most have a moving arm or leg or wing and some sort of bobbing or rotating motion. I know a lot of people are harping on this aspect, but I think they're pretty on par with the other dark rides, and the sculpting is a heck of a lot better than some.

Ex-Wdi brings up a good point about Hunny Hunt.

I saw a video on that ride and was blown AWAY! Then after I was able to actually analize it I noticed that Hunny Hunt isnt really all that big...A lot happens in a few rooms. From load, the big book, then the first show room the Blustery Day, Then the bouncing room, then The Pooh Dream room, that leads to the Heffalump and woozel dream room, and then Pooh in the Honey tree (an AMAZING AA figure!). And thats the end, we could have gotten a scaled down version of the ride, but I think I could all fit in the space.

Hunny Hunt isnt a continuously moving ride, It does stop and you watch stuff, then you move onto the next room and so forth. It seems like a more appropriate attraction then a fun but typical Dark Ride that is there now. Hunny Hunt would a perfect companion to Splash...but how can you argue with an attraction built for the least money that will make the most profit?

Am I wrong thinking Hunny Hunt could fit into the Country Bear theatre?

Not that it really matters anymore anyway.

While there may seem like just a few rooms I have a feeling Hunny Hunt has more than we realize, it looks like they have everything we do (plus a bouncing room). Not only that but each room is probably huge; it has to fit not just several cars single file, but in several different configurations, then the various props and characters on top of that. Picture a dance floor for each room instead of a train track.
