DISADA PRODUCING PETER PAN 100th ANNIVERSARY SHOW IN FLORIDA THIS SUMMER
?
Part of Disada's experience over the last 33 years has been to produce?events and exhibitions celebrating animation. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the publication of the first Peter Pan book by James M. Barrie and Disada has been asked?by?the Venice Art Center in Florida, south of St. Petersburg, to curate a Peter Pan exhibition.
?
?It will consist of original items from the first release of the classic 1953 Walt Disney animated feature PETER PAN. Our large collection on animation includes over 300 items from the 1953 release and the exhibition will?include original artwork, various posters and publicity items, toys, publications, records and a grand variety of other items from 1953. One aspect of the exhibition will be to compare how the film was marketed in various countries by showing items from?the USA, France, England, Denmark, Germany and other countries.
?
A second exhibition will be called How a Cartoon Film is Made, and will illustrate a step-by-step look at the techniques used to create films like PETER PAN through the use of original animation artwork such as character designs, model sheets, storyboards, animation drawings, backgrounds, cels and so on.
?
Disada will soon be selecting items for presentation in the largest of the Art Center's galleries, and we are also developing a special program?for press events and opening day festivies.
