Yodel Song from Home on the Range Question

Well guys I've been feel ill the last couple of days and had free time to catch up on some movie watching. I FINALLY got around to watching Home on the Range. Not bad, not great, but not bad.

However I have a question about the yodel song, in the middle where we have multi-colored cattle he yodels from a couple of non-disney songs. I picked out William Tell Overture, and Yankee Doodle but the third one is on the tip of my tongue and I cannot figure it out!

My husband was thinking is was from a classical song, maybe mozart and now as I sit here humming it, it kinda reminds me of Ode to Joy. And is the music directly after that another classical type song or just yodeling of music from the beginning of the song? I'm usually pretty good at picking out melodies from songs I already know, but this one has me stumped.

Anyways, I'm not a fan of yodeling, but this song just cracked me up!

Anyways thanks again for answering yet ANOTHER question of mine.

Hello!

I'm sure that third piece in the yodel medley is Ode to Joy. I *love* that scene. I really enjoy Home on the Range. The movie would have been better if

a) They'd kept the original title "Sweating Bullets" and kept the main character a cowardly bull.

or

b) Buck the horse had been the main character. He's the best thing in the film ("Ricco's saddle! Eeeeee!")and is the only character to have a life-changing plot point happen to him in the final conflict.

As it is, I love the character designs and music. Alan Menken did a great job here.
Would make an awesome dark ride, too.

I have to admit I liked it a lot better then I thought I would. I LOVED the design of the film, it reminded me of some of the shorts like pigs is pigs and the whole thing reminded me of Pacos Bill!

It wasn't the best but it was pretty darn good time. It didn't feel as polished or finished as some of the other feature films. But well . . we don't have to go into the whole disney 2d film discussion again.

Thanks for the confirmation!
