Wishes Fireworks at MK@WDW

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there,

at the boards of wdwmagic.com the upcoming new fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom is already a huge topic ... for us music fans especially one post stands out, saying that we will see a CD release of the soundtack soon:

>>
Yep--A stand alone CD of Wishes & the Pop version of the Wishes theme that plays after the show. I'm not in Merchantainment, so this is only what I was told by the Davidson/Operations folks.

I've heard from someone over in MS merch. that apparently ISTC is planning on releasing a Soundtrack with tracks from the various command centers and all....named something like "ISTC presents: Songs from Space" or something like that, crappy title if that would end up being the name, but I'd still buy it.

Cool. Of course we've listed before all the other attractions that have been around for a good many years and have yet to be represented on an OA. Here's hoping.

Personally, I'd have thought that a CD of a new attraction or show would be a lot more likely than older material, for two main reasons:

1) The masters are all available and current (probably just sitting on a nice big hard drive while being finalised), so making a CD version would take relatively little extra work while making the attraction version. Older stuff could take a lot more effort to re-master.

2) The rights would have been negotiated to allow for potential marketing, rather than older material for which the original contracts may or may not have included simple release rights.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there,

in the end we may be lucky and see several new CDs ... I mean: the current OA includes the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks track and I doubt they want to keep that on sale once the new fireworks run, so this might be enough cause for them to continue with their recent "tradition" of releasing a "new" (meaning: in minor ways tweaked) OA every year.

But if a new OA would be released and the source on wdwmagic is correct, that the soundtrack of the fireworks will be released on a single CD, the question is: what is going to replace the Fantasy in the Sky track on the OA? I doubt that they will release the same track on a single and on an OA, as this would definitely hamper the sales of the single...

Ah Dirk don't forget we are talking about the WDCo.. Have you seen the current DLResort Albums? They don't lose sleep over keeping old stuff on the shelf after it's lost it's relevance. I love those albums but they need to be updated.

Hi All,

Excuse my ignorance, but what has Mickey's Philharmagic replaced at MK? Ie. what attraction used to be in its place?

Wishes Fireworks Music Excerpt ONLINE

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there,

seems WDW is trying to get the word out about their new fireworks spectacular "Wishes" at MK ... why else should they have added this new webpage already:
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/waltdisne...?id=MKWishesAtt

The best: if you use a high bandwidth internet access move your mouse over the photo of Cinderella's Castle ... then a short clip with computer generated fireworks will start in synch with what I was told was a first excerpt of the fireworks soundtrack...

Oh ... if you just have a slower internet access click on the link for the high bandwidth version of the page that should be displayed somewhere in the upper rigth corner, most propably you can hear the music on that version of the page anyway!
