I found that the "WDW official album 2003 Where Magic Lives" would be released on March 18 at hmv.co.jp. (This is the imported CD from USA, which will be produced and sold in USA.) The release date is often changed about imported CD. Currently track information is not available on this website.

I have not read all the posts yet. Anyone posted it?

Now here's a post to sink your teeth into! Intriguing! A new Official Album? Did a fairly thorough search of the 'net and came up empty.

Anyone?

**rubs hands together hoping to hear from Randy with some juicy details....or even some cryptic details just to whet our collective whistles!** ;D

Thanks for the information!

First time I hear about a new WDW album for 2003 and it has to be from Japan!

The life of a Disney fan can be full of surprises....

Thanks again Yoshi!

I sure hope so too ... and the release of a new official album would make sense as the 100-years celebration ends but is the centerpiece of the current CD's cover.

The big question still is: will they give us an incentive to buy the new CD like, let's say, a new track or will it only be a rerelease of the current official album without the bonus CD but with a new cover??

Speaking of new CDs from WDW: with the official end of the Tapestry of Dreams at Epcot I think we should watch the horizon closely ... in the past there has been a steady demand for a CD with the Reflections of Earth soundtrack by normal guests - so the question is: will they keep selling the Tapestry of Dreams CD which includes Reflection of Earth even so the parade is gone (something they usually don't like to do), will they just turn a deaf ear and a blind eye to the customer demand and not offer the soundtrack anymore, will they incorporate the soundtrack in the new Official Album (maybe leaving the first CD unchanged from the current OA and adding a bonus CD with only the Reflections of Earth soundtrack - which would be really dumb as they would loose the money from the sale of the RoE-CD) or maybe (I know it is a faint hope) will they take the opportunity and release an EPCOT-CD featuring some music from the pavillions to add to the RoE-soundtrack?? While I would think the last option would be the best I somehow doubt that Disney still has managers left in teh right positions to see the possibe success of any project which is not labeld "princess" ...

Dirk, it seems you're hoping for a TDL approach to Disney music. The answer is, we'll be getting a compilation album of mostly the usual suspects, and the current Epcot CD will be relegated to ebay. Mike.

Yeah, since there hasn't been any "leakage" on this WDW OA, I'm guessing that it's going to be a re-hash. Remember when the 100 Years of Magic CD came out and there wasn't much info about that either, and Randy posted that it was just a rerelease of the older OA? I'll bet that's the case here as well.

And I'm sure to WDW's way of thinking, it's fine. They really don't have anything new to offer in the attraction department, so why should the CD change?

I also don't hold out any hope for the EPCOT CD. I'm betting they either pull the CD and just have nothing availible, or they do like DLP and release a single with just Reflections of Earth on it.

Exactly. Good point, Ben. If you've got nothing new, why bother? What new COULD they put on a new WDW OA? Suggestions anyone? ;D

Although I know a lot of people who wouldn't mind seeing the Foruosity clip from Main Street swapped out for the Music Man medley. Would be a great tie-in with the new Disney made-for-TV movie with Matthew Broderick, after all! ;)

They could at least "tweek" the usual suspects--let's just quickly go down the list of the last OA:
--different Main Street music
--a different selection from the Tiki Room
--a different Country Bear selection
--a different Sonny Eclipse song
--a different selection from It's Tough to be a Bug
One final comment--as much as I love There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow, just drop it from the CD because it only serves to remind me that they had their little 100 year celebration and didn't even bother to have the Carousel running in full glory, so why not just end the hypocrisy and drop the song from the CD line-up. Mike.

Yes!!! I say again, as long as It's a Small World is represented and Pirates and Haunted Mansion no average souvenir hunter is going to care which version it is. So why not satisfy the CD connesuier (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) by mixing it up a little and giving us different versions.

If I'm not mistaken, there appears to be some kind of tracklisting on the Japanese HMV site mentioned above, but I can't read it! Can someone take a look at it and report back?

Thanks! :)

Babelfish Translation (I love "horn Ted apartment" instead of "Haunted Mansion"):
"Official * album of the ウォルト * ディズニー * world of Florida. In the start theme song of attraction of four main theme parks is developed the main street station of the 「 Magic Kingdom Park 」 one after another to the 「 Epcot ' S Future World 」, the 「 cMgm Studios 」 and the 「 Animal Kingdom Theme Park 」. In while also music of the 「 Caribbean adapts even at the Japanese Disneyland pirate 」 「 horn Ted apartment 」 「 It's A Small World 」 and the 「 スプラシュウマウンテン 」 et cetera being included, being in Japan it is the very pleasant plan where you can taste the atmosphere of the ディズニー * world of the mecca.
They are the many long-awaited CD where you inquire from the customer."

Well, that's not a tracklisting. They haven't posted that yet. What you translated was just the description of the CD. It's telling us that it's a CD that has tracks from each park, and it mentions Pirates, HM, and Small World as examples. I imagine that since the cover art says "coming soon" that the track listing will come soon too.
