WDW Official Album 2004 and a bit more.

The opening lines to "Bear Band Serenade" are "the bear band bears will play now" but on the last official album the track was screwed up and it said "bear berar bands"

I seriously think that Winnie the Pooh is a steaming pile of (pooh?) of a ride...at least the DL version is. But I try to ride it everytime Im at DL...for 2 reasons... 1.its really bad, but its fun in its badness and the lines are NEVER long (or even there) and 2. I utterly love the music.

Wonderful music to a really bad ride...blah...so seeing that the Pooh soundtrack is going to be on the next OA is fantastic news! (It was actually one of my Holy Grails :) )

Thank you Randy! Now if only we could get him to reveal the track list for DL 50th 6 CD boxset....Hmmmmm :)

Re:WDW Official Album 2004 yet?

Does anyone know if this is out yet? Itchin' to hear the new stuff...

s8ntmark, I have to agree with you about Pooh being included on the latest WDW OA--it's probably the track I'm most looking forward to hearing--but as for as the attraction itself......

Granted, it's not an imagineering marvel, but it's still an enjoyable experience--my wife particularly loves it. Of course, I'm talking about the Florida version--I don't know how different the DL version is(I didn't think there was that much of a difference, from what I remember reading about it). And as far as the lines, unless you want to wait, usually about 45 minutes to an hour, you need a FAST PASS--that's very interesting about the DL "non-existing lines"(we were able to board repeatedly one time last visit because of the "magical" fireworks diversion).

Anyway, just my thoughts......

The Disneyland version is VERY different than WDW - and not nearly as impressive. The greatest effects in WDW's version were cut from DL's version entirely, and the "Heffalumps and Woozles" room isn't nearly as crazy.

Hard to believe that budget cuts would be allowed to compromise the inventiveness of a new attraction, but given the current state of affairs at the WDC, I suppose it fits.

Where have you been these past few years?? ;D

Sorry guys--maybe I've just been living with my boundless optimism up here in Maine a little too long, where the pace of life tends to be a little bit slower than most places, and things may not always be "up" to 2004 standards(which can be a good thing); so sometimes it's not too difficult to think longingly back to Walt's time--when the right thing was usually done......hey, don't they say that dreams can come true?

To move the thread to the top again: did anyone hear wether the OA has been released in the meantime or when we can expect it?? I'm dying to order it ... it would be perfect to bridge the gap till the anniversary set of Marry Poppins gets on sale ... which I had hoped to preorder through amazon, but no luck so far.

I just got back from WDW, and as of three days ago there was no sign of it. I am planning to post a full "musical" report of my trip a little bit later.

Cheers

Personally I find the DL version of Pooh to be muchmuch better executed than WDW's, but none will ever come close to TDL's extravaganza of Pooh.

About the new WDW 2004... I have to admit I am a bit disappointed that even with the new stuff thrown into it, there is still too much outdated material that we all have on so so many former park cd's. I think it's time they got rid of the obvious tracks (like Pirates, IASW and Mansion) and give us more varied stuff from one year to the next.

TDLFAN, It's a Small World WAS removed from this year's Official Album, and for good reason. The attraction isn't open, and won't be until the next Official Album is released (or very close atleast).

The casual vacation-goer will want a souvenier of songs they remembered vividly in the parks. This is why tracks like Grim Grinning Ghosts and Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me) will never go away. They stand as a testament to the great story-telling attractions of Walt's hey-day. I would croak if they replaced one of these tracks with music from, say, Chester & Hester's Dino-Rama.

Hopefully next year, when Randy is supposedly to have a two-disc set to represent Walt Disney World, we can expect to see some of the more obscure tracks, but Disney is not going to replace the more popular (and probably the tracks that make the sales) for the elite Disney music aficionados. But that's just my two cents.

Can anyone give me a more accurate product number? The one listed is not recognized by WDW Mail Order. They said that they only one they have in the computer is listed as 2004 but is being discontinued, which leads me to believe that it's actually last years. They don't have a track listing for me to verify. Any help would be appreciated.

To better help you determine which is new and which is old...

THIS IS THE NEW

For the NEW album "Where Magic Lives", the number is 61158 or 5008611587 as it appears under the barcode.

Below is the old number

The old album "Where Magic Lives" ? this is the one from last year and the one you don't want, the number is 60064 or 500860047 as it appears under the barcode.

Sorry for the confusion,
Randy Thornton

Hmmmm, this number still doesn't work, though I suspect it's because for some reason or another, it's not in the database yet. I actually spoke to someone in World of Disney and she checked all of their OA's and they were all last years. I assume the new one has just barely trickled in.
