I just wanted to let you know that I learned some interesting tidbits about a new book coming up:
It's called "The Disney Treasures" by Robert Tieman, Wendy Lefkon (Editor) and is set to be released by Hyperion in September 2003 as hardcover (64 pages) for 60.00$ (ISBN: 0786853905)
The book is not yet listed on the website of Hyperion but I received information from Ehapa which is going to release a German language version of this book this fall too.
According to this it will feature reprints of handwritten letters by Walt Disney plus sketches and drawings of many Disney characters all from the Walt Disney Archives in Burbank. These are supposed to go along with a text about the history of Disney and its different endeavors in a high quality printing. The speciality of the book: it is meant to include many replicas e.g. of the original tickets from the opening of the Disneyland Park which are included but can be taken out of the book!!
But why am I posting this here on a music site and why the subject line - well according to the German release information the book will come with a CD featuring 60 minutes of speeches by Walt Disney unreleased so far!!
Now does this sound cool??
So far neither Amazon.com nor Hyperion has any details like the before mentioned which was included in the "new releases brochure" sent out every 6 months or so by Ehapa in Germany ... but at least you can preorder the book already with a neat 30% discount at Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/078...sneyparisth-20/
