Tokyo Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean CD release

Well, it looks like we may get another attraction specific CD from Tokyo Disneyland, like the Small World CD from a few years ago.

There is going to be a new CD released to coincide with the reopening of TDL's Pirates of the Caribbean attraction with the newly refreshed scenes that Disneyland and Walt Disney World got with Jack Sparrow. So, the new score elements are rumored to appear on this CD.

It's supposed to be released on 7/25/2007 and is catalogue #AVCW-12600

Huge news, Ben--the Small World CD was a classic, hopefully this one will live up to that standard--I assume it'll be available through cd japan?
Thanks for the heads up,
Mike

Actually, CD Japan does not sell the Tokyo Disney Resort CD's (really, it's all Disney CD's) anymore. A few years back, Avex decided (for some strange reason) that they did not want their Disney/TDR CD's to be sold internationally. CD Japan sent out an email to people who asked why they were removed from the site, and they basically stated that Avex requested they remove them, and they were not offering them on the site anymore.

There is a loophole with this though. If you happen to know the catalogue number and the title, you can do a special order through CD Japan, and they will see if they can get it for you. It just requires a bit more time and effort, but it can be done.

I have noticed that Amazon is carrying a lot of the recent TDR releases too. Way more than they ever did...the only thing is that there is a bigger markup on Amazon than CD Japan (who charges the regular sale price in Yen, and then shipping). If you're willing to pay the extra cost though, Amazon is another good option.

Other reputable sources for Tokyo Disneyland cds are Ark Soundtrack Square (www.arksquare.net) in Japan and Footlight Records in New York (www.footlight.com). Be forewarned that many of the cds listed on Footlight's website as available are not actually in stock -- be prepared for disappointment when you place your order.

For another option, Amazon.jp (which is Amazon's Japan store) also sells tons of TDR stuff. The markup is not that bad, they seem to charge what cd japan was charging me. The do sell internationally. They are a bit tricky to navigate, even in their semi-english version, but they do work and answer back promptly. I highly recommend them.

As far as I know, footlight is closing for good so they can't guarantee the orders, this explaining that!

i buy my tokyo disney cds from http://www.play-asia.com i think the prices are great on the new releases... the prices can go up on the older stuff though.

Thank you so very much for that reference! This site is so easy to use and the prices are terrific! If their service is as good then it's heaven! :D

just be mindful of your searches... their search engine isn't google heh. i usually will search tokyo disney, tokyo disneyland, tokyo disneysea, etc... for some reason last year's christmas cds only come up when you search for x'mas (with the apostrophe even). They could stand to upgrade their search heh ;)

They are fairly quick. I ordered the Hong Kong Disneyland CD's from them and they were easy and I had no problems. Before anybody gets all crazy, I'm talking about the HKDL Grand Opening, and Sing Along CD's from 2005...

Oh, and Footlight closed it's retail store in NYC, and are now online only. This alleviates having to deal personally with their surly staff, but I'm not sure what kind of quality you'll get online either. I used to browse the store all the time, but now I have no use for it, online or otherwise.
