TDL Halloween 2007

Hello everyone!

I?ve been seeing some posts on the boards with people inquiring about the TDL Halloween Parade this year, and if it's going to be new material. That has always been one of my top three favorite Disney events every year ? I love that musical style, it's always so definitive of that Tokyo Disney sound. I?ve actually heard the music for the show stop this year; this year?s showmode was composed by a newer Disney composer, RICK MCKEE (me)!!!! Oh my friends, writing for Tokyo Disneyland has been one of my biggest goals since? FOREVER! I?ve been so excited to share this news with you ? sadly, this is all I?m allowed to say about the parade or the music at this point, but it really is going to be an AWESOME parade this year. :) I?ll keep you updated over the upcoming months. That's GREAT, Rick. First,the cruise ship. Now, TDL. Your dream has come true.Hope there will be a CD released! :)

By the way everyone... I have heard the demo for this piece that Rick wrote and it is phenomenal!!! It will not disappoint. It has hints of the Haunted Mansion throughout and is very fresh sounding in it's orchestration. Of course it will be going through many renovations in the next few months till they record the final version but it sounds show worthy already. Can't wait for the CD to come out. Everybody buy a copy when it comes out.... Rick can you tell us the title?

Thanks SO much, I really appreciate your comments. Sadly no, I can't say the title. I can say that I tried to capture that Disney sound I love so much (the Kids of the Kingdom, that 90's tight harmony, ie. "Remember The Magic", "Everyday's A Holiday"? it helps that it's still the same singers). I'm SO glad TDL still uses that sound. Of course, who knows what it will end up sounding like by the time the show starts. TDL is coming to town next week to Jonathan Barr's offices (the guy who hired me) to put in their input and decide where the extra measures need to be for dialog, dancing, etc. and I hope they don't tear it up too badly! :)

Jonathan's office is in Orlando, close to the Disney property. I actually live in Oklahoma... the whole story of how Jonathan and I met is really crazy? I'll post that story sometime soon. It's SO strange how these Disney connections all came together so quickly. :)
