Splash Mountain Official Album question (Randy?)

I noticed that on the most recent Official albums (DL and WDW) the great Splash Mountain Flow Throughs omit the section prior to the final drop. In Disneyland this is the section where the Rabbit and Possum mothers are singing to their children about staying away from the laughing Place. I don't remember if this section was included in WDW's version but I know at least the vultures and the scene with the tied up Brer Rabbit and Brer Fox's shadow had accompanying music, and this seems to have been left out as well. Does anyone know why this was left out?

The song "Sooner or Later" is not featured in the Walt Disney World version of the attraction. The first medley Randy did was for the Magic Kingdom version, and since he modeled the Disneyland version very closely to that mix I'm sure this is one reason why it might have been left off. It could possibly be that the rights to the music were too hard to secure, or perhaps it just didn't fit musically into the mix (as Randy always tries to produce a quality listening experience, even if it strays slightly from the ride experience).

Both of these "medleys" on the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Official Albums DID have the music from the lift hill, as well as a few audio clips of the vultures taunting Brer Rabbit.

Time to be movin' along!

I know there is some confusion about what this music is that the rabbit mother is singing. From what I understand it started off as a new version of "Sooner or Later" but was quickly changed (why I don't know) to a minor key version of "Laughing Place". I kind of thought that the reason it was left off was that it wasn't in the WDW version, though I'm surprised I didn't notice the omission in the actual attraction (though at Disneyland it does seem out of place; just a reason to use a few more America Sings figures). Thanks for the help.

Okay, good. I thought maybe I was crazy, because I kept listening for "Sooner or Later" last year on Disneyland's Splash Mountain and NEVER heard it. :)

I think the reason "Sooner or Later" was replaced was because it was a little too cheerful. It didn't convey the danger that was about to come, so they changed it to the ominous off-key "Everybody Has a Laughing Place". Are you sure WDW doesn't have this in it? I thought it did, but it's been a while since I've ridden it. What comes right before the lift hill and vultures?

"Laughing Place" is being sung just before the hill lift. Then DURING the hill lift they have that ominous "something bad is gonna happen" music. I think "Sooner or Later" is only played at the very beginning of the ride, when they're introducing the characters, then they switch to "Laughing Place" after the first or second small hill.
