Soundtrack Signing Extravaganza: June 10th, Burbank CA

Sorry for the late notice, but I just now found out about this event on the Pecepto Records website and thought that some of you in the Southern California area might be interested. I'm going to try to make it since I especially enjoy the music of Vic Mizzy.

A star-studded gathering of Hollywood's most impressive composers for horror, fantasy and science fiction will be greeting fans and autographing their best genre cd's at the "Soundtrack Signing Extravaganza" on Saturday, June 10th at Dark Delicacies in Burbank from 2 to 4 PM.

Sponsored by Percepto Records, this event will play host to some of the popular soundtrack label’s most prestigous alumni, including:

VIC MIZZY: Making himself the king of comedy-horror with his themes for "The Addams Family" and "Green Acres," the veteran composer will be signing such Percepto releases as "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken," "The Reluctant Astronaut," "The Night Walker" and the double-score release of William Castle’s "The Spirit is Willing" and "The Busy Body."

DAVID NEWMAN: Continuing the lush, orchestral sound of a Hollywood scoring dynasty, Newman will be signing "Serenity," "Galaxy Quest," "Ice Age," and the new Percepto release of the composer's first, landmark score for "The Brave Little Toaster"

LEE HOLDRIDGE: A fantasy composer second to none, Lee will be signing his lush, landmark scores for "The Beastmaster," "Splash," "Beauty and the Beast" and the Percepto release of "The Dreamer of Oz."

JOHN MASSARI: He gave evil alien jesters their groove, and now Massari will be signing Percepto's new release of his cult score for "Killer Klowns From Outer Space."

Other attendees include:

JOHN POWELL: From the cartoon energy of "Shrek" to the pulsating action of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," Powell has become one of Hollywood's most popular composers. Now he takes on the superhero genre as he signs his new score for "X-Men: The Last Stand."

JOHN OTTMAN: A composer/editor/director who's just finished "Superman Returns" for his longtime filmmaker-collaborator Bryan Singer, Ottman will be signing such devilishly clever genre scores as "Urban Legends 2," "The Usual Suspects," "Lake Placid," "Eight-Legged Freaks" and "House of Wax."

JOHN FRIZZELL: One of horror's busiest and most creative composers, Frizzell will be signing his breakout scores for "Alien Resurrection" and "Dante's Peak," as well as "Thirteen Ghosts" and "Ghost Ship." The event will also feature the in-store debut of Frizzell's new cd for the horror hit "Stay Alive."

BEAR McCREARY: Bursting on the sci-fi scene with his unconventional musical approach to the new "Battlestar Galactica," McCreary will debut his new soundtrack for "Battlestar Galactica: Season 2" at the event, as well as sign his Season 1 soundtrack.
