What are these? Are they the Travel Channel specials or something? It's not being released directly by Disney, and the descriptions sound like those programs...so I'm curious. I do wonder if it will really be true High Definition on Blu-Ray...

My guess is that these are the Lightship Entertainment programs that have appeared on the Travel Channel and Discovery HD. Lightship is based in Orlando and has done lots of work for Disney (including last year's Christmas Parade broadcast). I've already sent them an inquiry as to whether the Blu-ray discs include actual high definition material.

Update: Lightship has confirmed that these are the same shows that aired on the Travel Channel. Also, the Blu-ray disc (featuring 3 of the 6 shows listed above) is indeed composed of high definition material.

Oh, so the Blu-ray is only half the material? I suppose if the shows left off are standard definition, I can understand, but it's too bad it's not all of it, like the DVD. Thanks for asking them about the definition though, that helps.

Well, I don't mind DVD quality and we've only one bluray player between us. It's region free and I can play NTSC on my stuff here so I've pre-ordered it (via Magicmusic, of course).
With the exchange rate now it's pretty close to the standard price for a single Disney DVD over here in the UK :amazon:
Delivery date is rather long though (mid July).
I'm sure it will be well worth the wait.
