[/floatright]Burbank, CA — Walt Disney Records is set to release the digital soundtrack from Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, the hilarious all-new movie musical on Blu-ray™ and DVD from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, starring Ashley Tisdale recreating her role as America's favorite "High School Musical" drama queen. Featuring six new songs performed by Tisdale and others, the soundtrack arrives April 19 at digital retail on the same day and date as the movies Blu-ray™ and DVD release. The nationwide release date for the eight-song physical soundtrack is May 17.

Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure is a witty musical comedy about pursuing life-long dreams and believing in yourself. Songs include the upbeat lead track, "Gonna Shine," sung by Ashley. Grounded in a timeless Broadway style, other songs include "My Boi and Me" and the companion tune, "My Girl and Me" (the latter performed by Ashley and co-star Shawn Molko). "New York's Best Kept Secret" is a touchingly reflective ballad, while "The Rest of My Life" is an all-heart-all-hope pop gem. Lucas Grabeel, who co-starred as Ryan Evans in the "High School Musical" films alongside Ashley, sings the love song, "Baby" (Justin Bieber's Top 10 hit). Bonus tracks on the physical release include Aly and AJ's rendition of "Walking on Sunshine" and a remix of "Fabulous" from "High School Musical 2" (Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel).

Tisdale shines in this captivating comedy. After a talent scout spots her performing with her dog Boi at a charity gala, Sharpay Evans (Tisdale) sets off for the bright lights of New York, convinced fame and fortune are in the bag. But the Broadway is a dog-eat-dog world, as she and Boi learn when they encounter the devious owner of a pampered Pooch named "Countess" and a scheming Broadway starlet who will do anything to crush the competition. Fortunately, Sharpay also meets Peyton (Austin Butler), a handsome student filmmaker who finds Sharpay nearly as fascinating as she finds herself.

In Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, Ashley is joined by co-stars Austin Butler ("Life Unexpected," "Ruby and the Rockits" and "Zoey 101"), Bradley Steven Perry ("Good Luck Charlie"), Cameron Goodman ("Phineas and Ferb," "The Phantom") Alec Mapa ("Ugly Betty," "Desperate Housewives") Jack Plotnick ("Reno 911," "Drawn Together") and Lauren Collins ("Take the Lead," "Degrassi: The Next Generation").

The film was directed by Michael Lembeck ("Tooth Fairy," "The Santa Clause 2 & 3 and TV's "Friends"), produced by Jonathan Hackett ("Honey I Shrunk The Kids: The TV Show," "Relic Hunter") and executive-produced by Barry Rosenbush ("High School Musical"), Bill Borden ("High School Musical") and Ashley Tisdale.

Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure soundtrack will be available digitally on April 19 and physically on May 17.

Ah, but at the same time, they'd be helping MagicMusic through the Amazon and iTunes marketing programs (assuming of course that they click on one of the links above and make a purchase...). So it ain't all bad!

More importantly, they'd be helping The Walt Disney Company. It can be argued that Disneyland was built by Annette Funicello. Let's just pretend that the funds from Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure are going directly toward the expansions currently taking place at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. :D

Well, I know she just purchased the soundtrack to Lemonade Mouth. So perhaps we're helping to fund something good!

I'd rather support the company by buying albums that I actually want, and the way things are going, it'll be another 10 years before we get any new WDW albums. I refuse to support, in any fashion, the Disney Channel stars of today. I don't even want to buy the newer soundtrack releases cause it features them.

As for this character, anyone who uses a dog (named Boi, double puke on such a horrible name) as an accessory and acting like rich spoiled brat gets an immediate thumbs down.

Of course, I'd love for Disney to release more content that I am interested in, but I don't mind releases like this. They obviously are geared towards a different audience. The Disney Channel has given both of my kids quality entertainment through the years and I don't mind either of them purchasing CDs from the various artists/shows. There is a lot worse material they could be listening to.
