Rescuers Down Under

I know, I know - I'm a bit late to comment on this release, but hey, it takes longer to get these CDs here in Germany as they are available as import only.

Anyway what I originally wanted to say was: thank you Randy for this great release - I LOVE IT

But - guess you expected this but already - it is a shame that Walt Disney Records is pulling these releases off so cheap they can't even afford proper liner notes (they had them in Tron and I really enjoyed them) and especially proper credits.
OK, we know that there are some legal obstacles with the release of the soundtrack for The Rescuers so most propably we won't see anything more than the 3 bonus tracks heared on this CD (which are great - a thousand thanks for them!) but couldn't Disney have added at least the credits for tehse three tracks? While the original producer, engineer etc. is of interest most propably to the fans only I think the names of the performers would have been of interest to the "normal" customer too.
I'm well aware that this is not your fault, Randy, but I think that Disney for sure is getting into more trouble with the performers if they don't even list them - especially as they normally list the performers (see e.g. Pete's Dragon).

Anway another big thank you for the release - and wishing you all the best so that we can be suprised even more often with more releases ;-)

Don't worry, Dirk - I am yet to receive my RDU and Pete's Dragon CDs...
Do you mean Shelby Flint's name isn't mentioned anywhere on the CD? That would be quite strange. Do they list the composers?

Hi Sami,

hope you get your CDs soon!

And no, Shelby isn't mentioned at all. It only says "featuring characters from the Disney film suggested by the books by Margery Shapr, "The Rescuers" and "Miss Bianca" published by Little, Brown & Company".
But the composers and lyricists are mentioned together with the copyright (they won't forget that one ). For the score tracks of "The Rescuers Down Under" they have by far more complete credits even mentioning "Music recorded by ... at ...; Music Editor ...; ..."

I really wonder why they don't name the performers for the three songs :-(

I have a question -- I have the original cd release of The Rescuers Down Under, and will buy the new release if the sound has been improved. Can anyone tell me whether the new release has improved sound? I believe it has been remastered, but I don't know...

Thanks
Jim
