Hi everyone!

Does anyone know how I could find the ORIGINAL recording of ?Remember the Magic? from the Magical Moments parade? I think it may have been released on the old WDW Forever system. It?s a very short version. I heard a low quality version online that sounds a LOT better than the version from the Music Vacation CD. The vocals seem to be much clearer in the original. Thanks SO MUCH for your help!!!

Have a GREAT day!!!
-Rick

PS: Here's a link to a low quality recording of what I'm looking for:

I have a version that plays out almost 8:00 minutes with the initial dialog that I think you're talking about. No idea where it came from. It's called Remember the Magic Segment, but I may have changed that from the original filename.

It's a VBR (128 kbps) MP3 file.

I think tough you're looking for something else. The music is overpowering the vocals at times.

Yes, actually. I do have recordings of the parade in its entirety. What I am looking for is a high quality recording of what I posted in the original topic. Here's the low quality version of what I am looking for:

If you have a high quality recording of the parade and the song you are looking for is in your recording. You can dowload a program called Audacity, which is a sound editor/recorder and you can record the portion you want from the parade as a seperate mp3 file. But thats only if you are interested in the version of Remember the Magic featured in the parade if not, good luck to you!

The version I'm looking for is mixed differently than the original released version. Believe me, I've been trying to edit that one for a while but I just can't bring out the vocals enough. Also, the bass frequency was overbearing, no matter how much I turn the bass down, it still sounds slightly muddy. If you listen to the low quality version I posted, you'll notice that the vocals are much louder than the original released version. I bet the version I'm looking for comes from the WDW Forever system.

The only ones on WDWF that could be the track you are looking for are

Disney Classic Parade - "1 of 5" 3:22 STEREO [NEW 3/00]
or
(Magic Kingdom) Parade, "Remember the Magic" 1 of 2 5:07 STEREO

And neither of those sound like the one you posted. What is the quality of the track from the album you are trying to edit?

Actually, the Walt Disney World Forever track IS what you're looking for Rick. Or at least, it's insanely close to what you're looking for and all the elements in the version you posted CAN be found in th WDWF track.

I dug out the disc I burned from the system back in April '99, and 'Magic Kingdom Parade - "Remember the Magic" 1 of 2"' is what you're gonna need to track down. The young female solo that starts off the clip you posted occurs in the WDWF track at 1:16 in, and goes from there. The difference is that the WDWF track launches into a "soul"-ful interlude in it's middle, and then concludes the way yours does around 3:01, while the track continues on to be 5:09 in length. That middle portion could be very easily removed using a simple cut, fade, and overlap in an audio editing program to achieve the exact track you're looking for.

So while I'm not sure if the EXACT version you're looking for exists somewhere already, the WDWF track is extremely close (just a little longer, but does have the same chorus, instrumentation, etc.) and is probably a better bet than tearing your hair out. ;)

I thought he was looking for a version that sounded exactly like the clip he posted, you could edit the main song, but I don't think you can edit out the narrator's voice before and after you hear "when you wish apon a star" from the WDWF or Music Vacation track.

Besides, I don't think the WDWF version is any higher quality than the Music Vacation version. If it sounds bad, you might have a low quality rip from the Music Vacation CD. I did post a lossless rip in the newsgroup a couple months ago.
