Quick Question: Remember Dreams Come True (fireworks)

Sorry guys, this is a question that I could easily look up myself, but since my accident I have no way to get to my CDs and their inserts to answer this questions. (Btw, just FYI on March 30th my husband and I were driving along and a gust of wind blew our car off the road causing it to roll. My husband is fine, but I broke my neck, thankfully there was no spinal damage, so I'm OK, really!!! But I had to have surgery and I'm being looked after by my mom and I'm living at my parents house and all my CD cases are at my house, but I have all my music with me on my computer)

Now that I've completely bummed you all out, here is my question:

Who did the music for Remember Dreams Come True? My ear tells me that there is some new stuff in there, my best example is the fantasyland/toon town medley that had laughin' place in the background. Did someone write new stuff for it, or is all the music just taken from other sources and stuck together in a medley?

If there new music, can someone help me confirm what is new? Like HM and POTC, was some of that music new? MSEP also had a bit that sound new, using regular instruments instead of synthesized stuff.

Once again, I'm actually ok, didn't mean to bum anyone out, I just felt like I needed to explain WHY I would be asking a question I could easily answer . . .if I could get to my stuff. ;) I can't drive yet either, my neck is in a brace and I can't turn my head . . .yet.

Thanks guys, I've had a lot of time to *enjoy* my music in recent weeks and some questions have popped up.

Thanks again!

Caitlin

Wow! I'm SO sorry to hear about the accident! Hopefully you recover fast. That must have been some gust of wind.

All of the music for Remember Dreams Come True was re-recorded using an 80 piece orchestra, including the sections borrowed from Wishes. Then of course the vocals and sound effects from the attractions are all original versions of the audio in the event that they'd been replaced over the years(Remain seated please, PotC captain, etc). Steve Davison gave a preview presentation of the show before the 50th anniversary to cast members and explained about that much. I don't think I still have the audio clips from it, but maybe someone else here does.

Good luck on your recovery.

Thanks almandot that is really neat to know! I've been listening to that particular track and the dark rides suite, both of them are two of my *newer* favorites. I'm hoping before my recovery is over to have the chance to REALLY listen to all of my music (Disney and other). Although I seem to just keep listening to my favorites over and over and over ;D I don't get tired of my favorites easy.

Thanks again!

I didn't know they re-recorded the Wishes parts, that's interesting! They sound the same to me, so it's hard to tell. So, was the MSEP section newly recorded too? That part sounds like the original recording, but enhanced somehow.

Not MSEP I don't think. At least most of it sounds like the real thing...The 2nd half sounds like they added some orchestra.

While I of course love the original MSEP, I also love hearing it played by an orchestra, the MSEP single has a nice recording and I love the one from the Disney on Classic CD. ;D

I wish someone had the Parade of Dreams presentation...I saw everything else, but missed the POD part. damn...

The officer on the scene called them *squalls*, I got B*tch slapped off the road.

Heh, sorry for laughing, but that's just a funny line. Good luck on your recovery, cschurr.

I'll be honest: I wouldn't have any idea about the good stuff. Hopefully at some point, WDR will release the MSEP album on iTunes, because I love the Baroque Hoedown, but the funny thing is, I'd like to hear the original version to really bring back the memories of seeing it at the tender young age of 5.

I always thought that the Wishes parts were literally copied and pasted from the FL version. After listening to both recordings, they're EXTREMELY similar, but there are slight differences. I think that's due to different mixing, though, and not because they were recorded with different orchestras. Who knows. ???

90% of the Remember soundtrack is new, though. And you're all right about the MSEP part; that's the 80-piece orchestra backing it during the end of that segment. One of my favorite parts of the show. ;D

Hope your recovery goes well!
