Pirates of the Caribbean-Curse of the Black Pearl

Has anybody heard a track list for this CD? I'm going to be very disappointed if we don't get to hear Yo Ho in this one. Wouldn't surprise me if we didn't, just look at the Country Bears soundtrack (not even Ghost Riders in the Sky)! Heaven forbid we get a recording like they made on Music in the Park-that was truly terrible! Also, does anybody know why Disney is releasing the CD two weeks after the movie?

Don't expect any yos or hos on the cd. This will be a synthy-orchestral score by Zimmer disciple Klaus Badelt, who replaced Alan Silvestri fairly late in the game. That is probably why the soundtrack won't be released until after the movie opens, though that is not an uncommon phenomenon. Still looking forward to it, though. Badelt did a wonderful job on the remake of The Time Machine a year or two ago.

I work at the Disney Store and we are slated to get this sometime next week or the week of the release.

According to the Film Score Monthly site, which is quite reliable in such matters, the soundtrack won't be out until July 22.

Ah, but just because the store is schedule to GET the soundtrack sometime next week, that doesn't neccessairly mean that that's when they're gonna SELL it.

Welcome to the wonderful world of retail. ::)

Actually, there are. We saw the film a few weeks ago, and it opens and ends with someone singing Yo-Ho. But it's not part of the score itself...

I'm not 100% positive, as some of the music still was possibly a temp track. But in general, I'd say the answer is no.

The movie does have numerous references to the park attraction, though. Some are obvious, and some are not. It's nice to see that they paid attention, though! For the record, everyone at the screening loved it. I had very low expectations, and came away having a ball.
