Phineas & Ferb Needs a Soundtrack CD ASAP

Has anybody else noticed that the Disney Channel actually has something *good* on for a change, and that it features truly funny and catchy musical numbers in every episode?

And it's not Hannah Montana.

Phineas and Ferb is a wonderful show, which means Disney Channel will probably cancel it. If you've never seen it, (and it's not exactly easy to catch -- currently airing only from 8:00 to 8:15 PM nightly) and you like witty, good-hearted, whimsical animation, check it out. The music is a blast. Besides featuring a great theme song by Bowling for Soup, there seems to be a full-blown (though usually brief) musical number smoothly worked into each episode...and the songs are hilarious!

Needless to say, I'd love to see Disney release the music on iTunes and/or CD. Right now iTunes offers two of the episodes for sale (more to follow, hopefully). I highly recommend the "Fast and the Phineas/Lawn Gnomes of Terror" download. Great fun!

Wikipedia already has a decent entry up, and fans are posting clips all over Youtube, including a few of the songs. (I'm waiting for someone to post the "Phinandroids and Ferbots" number).

The one thing that could kill this show prematurely is the fact that every episode is a variation of the same plot (and every episode evokes the last 20 minutes of Ferris Beuller)...but, in the first dozen or so shows, the writers have done a remarkable job of coming up with new twists to keep it funny.

Anyway, just a heads up. I get the feeling most visitors to this site shun everything on Disney Channel in its post-Vault Disney era (and understandably so), but this show, so far, is a very pleasant surprise.

I'd buy a soundtrack. If they ever release a "Disney Channel Hits: Take 3" CD, they could put some stuff from "Phineas & Ferb" on it. It's been a while since "Take 2" came out and there's enough shows and original movies to fill a new CD. It would give Disney another way to sell more of the same music from "Hannah Montana" and "High School Musical" (not that I'm complaining - I buy every new Hannah and HSM disc even if I have all the songs already).
