Chrisc710-

Very impressive list you've got there! There are a few additions though:

ANIMAL KINGDOM
March of The Artanimals parade
Mickey's Jungle Jammin' parade

EPCOT
Tapestry of Nations parade
Tapestry of Dreams parade
And that "color" show by the big fountain
And what about all of the Illuminations shows and whatever was on the lagoon before Illunimations?

Chris,

I don't remember "Show Biz Is" ever playing at Disney MGM; I do know it played at Tomorrowland Stage for most of the eighties....

It was one of my favorite shows, and i watched it so often that i could have joined the Kids of the Kingdom!!!!

The "rain" falling between the stage and the audience during the Singin' In the Rain number always got the right attention and reaction...

Great job listing all those shows!

Oh, yes !

What was the name already of the daytime show on and over the Showcase Lagoon with the small planes, the kytes, the colored fumes and the "Dragons"... and the "gumdrops"... and Dreamfinder...????????

Gee, my memory is failing me!!....

I now do believe it was "Surprise in the Skies" something like that..

You all corrected my typo; i meant to type KITES!

MSEP actually did not take Hiatus #2 @ DL until after the Spring of '83.

As for Shows don't forget Disneyland Is Your Land 1980-85 & Subsquently Disney World Is Your World (various years begining in 1981

There certainly was a State Fair Parade at Disneyland. There were pig races, different music loops everywhere and a large ferris wheel used to reside where the partners stature is. I recall it was a marketing technique to get people into Disneyland during the fall season.

NOONE REMEMBERS?!

The very first fireworks at EPCOT was Carnivale De Lumiere. Does noone remember this. I've always wanted to see it, I hear it was a blast. - The WeirdOne :D

In 1996-97--while the cast was decorated as a cake for the 25th anniversary of WDW--there was a castle forecourt show called "Ears To You" which "honored" park-goers past and present. The show featured the Kids of the Kingdom, characters and guests holding large oval signs representing their first year of visiting WDW.

The song used was "Feel The Magic" which has only been released from TDL in their 15th anniversary box set. Unfortunately there are many Japanese lyrics in that version mixed with English lyrics. I have long sought an English-only version of this song! I will take this opportunity to ask anyone here if they might be able to help.

Before anyone asks, this is NOT the same Feel The Magic song which was released from EuroDisney in English and French versions many years ago.

Sharon, I think the one you mentioned about the colors at EPCOT's fountain was called "Splashtacular", right? It was basically the same as Tokyo Disneyland's 10th Anniversary show "It's Magical". It was kind of like a daytime version of "Fantasmic!", except at EPCOT the villain was a big robotic dinosaur instead of the Maleficent Dragon like at Tokyo Disneyland. Almost all of the costumes were the same between both shows though. It played for a short time in 1994 at EPCOT and in 1993 at Tokyo Disneyland.

Also at EPCOT was that stupid Barbie show also from 1994 where she rode that nasty pink limo around World Showcase. What Barbie has to do with EPCOT is anyone's guess, other than maybe being an American icon, but it's really stretching...

On the parade and shows thread, I have a couple questions about tracks that are out there.

1. There are two Lion King parade tracks floating around. One is labeled "Travel Music" while the other is the parade. Do these fit together? Is the Travel Music the pre-show warm up?

2. Blast to the Past. Two versions floating around. 89 and 90 versions. Was the 50's version for the second year? The parade music for the 60's was quite good.

Now, put your thinking caps on, I appreciate your replies, Thanks!

I am correcting something I said earlier, the ferris wheel for blast to the past was in the town square, not where the partners statue stands, thanks.

Splashtacular: yeah, I have a nasty live recording of that one. Its pretty bad. I prefer the "It's Magical" version done at Tokyo Disneyland, which I believe is all sung in English. Was Bruce Healey involved in this?

There were definitely two different songs used in the parade. As it traveled to and from each show stop, they played "Just Can't Wait to Be King", and then each of the four show stops was performed to "Circle of Life".

If I remember correctly, the ferris wheel at DL's State Fair was placed at both the Central Plaza and Town Square in different years. I also remember a second ferris wheel along Big Thunder Way. Does anyone else remember this?
