OT: Tape stock for the Master tapes?

Anyone that was working on the box set and remastering of the old Disney tracks (or has inside knowledge)....what kind of audio tape was used to record the masters? Was it 1/4 inch nagra tape? Or was it the thick 2 inch kind?

I work in Post production and keep thinking about it when I look at tape machines (can you tell Im REALLY excited for this box set?! ;D)
