Just thought I'd pass this along...

Roy Disney's site is all new and improved!

Unlike many sites that get more colorful and flashier, the content itself has actually improved and is now much more thorough and in depth. I encourage everyone to read thoroughly through each section. I particualarly found the "Consumers" section very interesting. Again, it sounds like many of the "radical" things many fans have been saying for years!

Wow...between everyone, they have over 8500 people who have signed the petition now!

Also snickered at the link to the poll where 85% of the voters said Eisner should step down.

9100 people signed to support Roy, and 86% voting that Eisner has lost his way.

I just wonder if Roy, now well over 70, is going to have the stamina to stage another coup like the one he did almost 20 years ago. I really hope so. The trouble with new blood & fresh ideas is that they can eventually go stale, as has happened at Disney.

I firmly believe that a business (any business, even something the size of the Walt Disney Company) should be there to serve its customers needs & wishes, not the other way around.

Good luck to Roy!

True ... this are amazing numbers if you look at them the first time ... but if you think about who knows about this petition: only fans and Disney CMs really know about the website of Roy ... so I would translate it as: of all the thousands of fans worldwide (just look at the huge number of fans posting on Disney message boards all over the www) ONLY 9,100 have signed the petition.

It would be way more interesting if Roy would start an action like asking all the Disney fans who are also shareholders to sign over voting rights for the upcoming AGM to him ...

One last thing: I'm not sure wether there isn't a second question besides wether he is willing to stage another mutiny successfully at TWDC. The question would be: who is willing to trust someone who has sold off his shares in the company he wants to change??

Yes Roy Disney is a great man and he certainly has a point with Michael Eisner (we don't need to discuss that) but: as an INVESTOR I'm not sure wether I do want to have an old man meddling in a company AFTER he has sold off his shares in the company clearly indicating either missing interest or doubts about the sucess of his plans for the company.

I mean: if Roy Disney wants to stage a coupe and thinks he can so he must have a plan whom to hand TWDC over to. By selling off his shares he not only indicated that he does not trust Eisner but also that he does not trust his own plans for the future. Not very assuring for an INVESTOR.

[Let the bashing begin]

then it's up to each and every one of us to post the address to each and every message board, chat room and other gathering place on-line...Disney related or not. There are a lot of families out there that would vigorously back this effort if they knew about it. Get the free bumper sticker and display it and write loetters to the editor of the major newspapers. Roy cannot and should not be expected to do this on his on. HE NEEDS OUR HELP!!!!

Dirk, the way I look at it, certainly no one can ever be sure of the future; but Walt's entire "Magic Kingdom" is under seige, basically. So, if his own nephew wants to pick up the torch and run with it--at least it's hope worthy of support, despite any questions you may have.

Hi Mike,

I should have expressed myself a bit different - I wasn't reffering to the "actual me" but to a "me" if I were (would be) an average investor, who is investing for a return / profit and not for sentimental value / loyality reasons as most fans do.

Dirk, you're actually right, you did make that distinction in your comments--I stand corrected, and you are now excused from any wrong doing regarding Walt.....
