OT: Possible Haunted Mansion Updates

While not music related, it seems word has it if the new Haunted Mansion movie scheduled for release later this year (November) does well in theaters, they plan to pull the current version of Madame Leota and replace her with Jennifer Tilly who plays her in the film. This will be one of several "upgrades" to the mansion.

While I understand there does need to be some change in the theme parks, must we mess with another classic attraction?

The head of Leota (Toombs) Thomas and the voice of Eleanor Audley will surely be missed by me if this is done.

Hi Everyone,

I'm not too worried about changes being made to the HM. How popular would the movie have to be? Pretty darn popular and what are the chances of that? Sure, I'll go see it... but then... I'm a recovering HMaholic.

You know what I don't understand?

I don't understand how Disney can spend 120M on the Pirates movie and 90M on the Haunted Mansion Movie...yet they balk at spending that sort of money on much needed theme park attractions?

The sad thing is if these types of movies do marginally well, we're going to see even more of them.

Does anyone think that Eddie Murphy is still funny? I must confess that when I think about the HM...Eddie Murphy never comes to mind.
