OT - Liza Minnelli Talked About Me!

I keep forgetting to relay this story here. I already sent it to a coupla people via email but before all the spark goes out of it for me, I'll tell it here too.

I went to NY on Sunday to see the final perfomance of Toxic Audio's Off-Broadway show.

Just before the final song in the show, Ren? Ruiz (the originator of the group) invited a lot of people who were involved in the show onto the stage...so their set designer, costume designer, prop mistress, sound guy, etc., all went up there. Then he starts saying something about "we have lots of super fans but I just want to call your attention to one person in particular who has been with us since our Florida days, who was there with us when this whole thing began during our NY showcase in January and she flew up from Orlando to all of the Jam sessions here and she always manages to surprise us by not telling us that she's going to show up."

I didn't go on stage . But it was REALLY cool.

Anyway, when they do the meet and greet after the show, who comes up to talk to Toxic but Jim Caruso and Liza Minnelli. LIZA MINNELLI! When she was introduced to them, I was standing about 5 feet away...far enough to not be able to hear the conversation but within visual distance to see Liza talking to them, look at me, talk, point, talk ).

2 of the performers invited me to the wrap party/dinner. As per Jim Caruso at the dinner (he's a middle-age Broadway guy who's pseudo-famous...he does cabarets and hosts a star-studded show at some club that gets broadcasted on internet radio...he reminds me a LOT of Mark Harris) Liza loved the show and "would like them to play in her living room" . So at least we know she has taste. And, from my observations, LOTS of face lifts .

But Liza Minnelli....cool huh?

Yes, Sharon, cool--and from my recent close encounter of the Jodi kind, I clearly recognize your symptoms--you're definitely all verklempt!!!

P. S. What did she think about you hitting the 1K??!? I mentioned it to Jodi that you were about to hit the mark.....

Mike-

I DEFINITELY not WAS all verklempt. Not for Liza Minnelli. For Toxic Audio singling me out, yeah, that was cool. Beat liza Minnelli by a mile but I figured people could relate to the "I saw a celebrity" part more.

Bill-

I figured it was something along the lines of, "Is THAT the crazy one who's traveled from Florida to see you so many times? Yeah, I have freakish fans like that too." As it turned out, 2 of the performers invited me to their wrap party/dinner, so I guess I'm still in good standing .

Whew....thanks for setting me straight on that one, Sharon.....with all those face lifts and stuff, I think Liza's getting a little scary for me at this point--but Jodi is still OK.

Mike

I had to consult my wife on that one, Sharon, as she was with me up at the signing table, and is a better judge of that kind of thing--she says that Jodi looked completely human, with the flaws of a woman of that age, except the hair coloring, which she found acceptable, because......well, you know why. My wife's conclusion--she looked good.

I was out of town for a few days and just caught up with this thread. Isn't it heartwarming when big celebrities like Liza take note of the "little people."

Oooooh, what a twisted, little mind you have, Miss 1K......OK, OK, the gowns WERE rather form-fitting, shall we say--but I actually saw more of her when she was Ariel.

Dr. Know-

Bite moi .

Michael-

You should see me on my other boards. I am SOOOO well-behaved here, in comparison. Thank your lucky stars for that, too!
