New Space Mountain Daytime Track

I was wondering what ya'lls opinion was of this new bit of music?

Me personally... I love it. I was VERY surprised that I did because I am a big fan of the Dick Dale version. I was unimpressed with the idea of 'needing' to change what wasn't broken.

But this track rocks. I listened to it the first time and thought, "Well, this doesnt suck." And I played it again. "Kinda neat". And now... I find myself playing it over, and over, and over again.

Of course now the possibility of a 'new' nighttime track makes me kinda sad. (sigh) Why cant they leave my new favorite track alone! :'(

Thoughts?

Whew, I'm glad it wasn't just me. :) I had the same reaction when I heard they were going to replace the original track... "WHAT?! You can't change the SM music!" Then I heard the new track and I can't stop listening to it. It's great! I keep trying to ride SM in my mind and imagine how it all fits together... but it's been closed so long I can't seem to remember it very well. ;)

I'm not crazy about it, though my opinion will likely change when I get to experience it in the attraction in August. My favorite Space Mountain score is still Steve Bramson's score for DLP, recently retired as well.

The new SM Disneyland is similar to the new DLRP track but in my opinion not as good. Very similar orchestration, but the Paris track has more oumph!

Is it just me, or does it sound a little like something from "The Incredibles" soundtrack? I'm not complaining, mind - I liked the music in "The Incredibles".

schnebs - I thought that at first, too... then saw that Michael Giacchino also did the new SM music. That explains a lot! ;D
