Music Used for Pirates of the Caribbean at WDW

As I headed to POTC yesterday to start my shift, I did stop and hear the Unreleased Track u mentioned about, Horizons!! And I have come the the conclusion, that this track is indeed a rare one, its a custom track WDI had recorded at an orchestra and fitted into the loop to make people think it was from the film!! I have come to the conclusion that there are alotta new orchestrations of music, not just the Queue, but the main attraction also!! I have compiled them into a list down below, and since I work this attraction, it didnt take me too long to figure it all out

The List is as follows!

The Cove aka Exterior Queue: The music is indeed from the film, aside from the one custom track that comes between the Dead Man's Chest and World's End Sections of the music!! The track time is correct, but at the 1:00 min mark, the Up Is Down track comes in!! But none of the less, the track is 1:00

The Entrance/Armory Queue/Dungeon Queue: That music is an old piece, it was strictly made for Disneyland's version (It was used at the end of the ride while climbing back up the waterfall to the loading dock in the Blue Bayou!!!) It was added in WDW back in 1974 (The yr the WDW version opened) The piece is available, its 3:08 long ;) Along with this piece of music, is a slower, isolated piece of the Pirates singing Yo Ho (this track was used in the Caves portion of our ride, back before the rehab!!

The Dungeon: No more of that old creepy music plays anymore, they have made the music turn into the exit music from DL's Version. same music as above!! I am not sure of a location of this music, i think its still unreleased!

Loading Bay(Dungeon Side): The reason I mention this area is there is a Sound Effect no longer played, the pirates digging in the sand for the treasure(Which the pirates werent visable, just a flickering torch casting shadows on the cave walls!!!) The track was :40 on a loop!!

The Caves: The slow moody, Yo Ho music, is a newly recorded piece and is unreleased(unless u by the Tokyo DL soundtrack) The music is only :35 and is on a constant loop!!

The Battle Sequence: This music during the battle of the ship and fort, is a know piece from the films, but, the beginning of the song has been redone, therefore making it a rare piece!! the track is 1:00 and loops!

The Entire Town Of Tortuga: This music has indeed changed, its still a Yo Ho version, but new instrumentals have been used to make it sound like the Two Hornpipes song used in the films, same instrumentals applied, but yet again, rare!! It's 1:05 and loops!!

The Burning Town: First things first, the main backdrop music is still the original from before, the only diff in this scene, is the Pirate Musicians Track, New instrumentals have been used for this scene and its a great track!! 1:00 and loops! All tracks in this scene are between :58-1:02 and still find a way to loop back around and go again together!!

Jack's Finale Scene: The music is the same track used in the Burning Town Scene, the old yo ho music track is used here!! Its available!! 1:02 is the track time!!

Now I have done comparisons of both rides DL and WDW versions and we at WDW are missing 5 tracks from the new version!! 2 of them are unreleased and new, and 3 are old tracks heard in the old and original version!!

The Blue Bayou: The man playing the banjo, wouldnt fit with our theme in WDW considering DL's is more Lousiana like and ours is like a spanish town!! The piece is 1:08 and available!!

The Caves: The old yo ho track i mentioned for WDW, is still used here, but is heard after plunging down the 1st of 2 waterfalls!! its 1:05!!

Captains Cabin: I like this track alot, and have the isolated version of it, its the harpiscord music played where the captain is a skeleton and is reading the map with a spyglass, the track is 1:00 and is available!! This scene was built where the old Wax Museum idea was gonna go, they filled the whole area with caverns and crevaces and other cool stuff!!

Davy Jones Effect: In the Disneyland version, a piece of Davy Jones' Organ was used, its a unreleased organ piece and not used in any of the POTC films, the track is precisely :50 and on a loop!!

The Waterfall Climb Back To The Loading Dock: Much like what Horizons mentioned about the Yo Ho track that was unreleased at WDW, same thing used here, but its a Davy Jones Organ style version of Yo Ho, this is a track I am trying to get my hands on, it was gonna be used at WDW too(going up the escalator to the gift shoppe, where u hear Davey Jones' spiels) but never made it in!! This track is 1:02 in length and loops constantly!!

So pretty much, u all now know about the music for the current versions of POTC!! Enjoy!!

Just as an FYI, I'm pretty sure there is incorrect information in the post above, including the description of what used to play in the queue.

This is one of my long term projects. Regarding the queue, there was a longer track, maybe 7 minutes or so, music (Yo Ho theme) with dialog mixed in, that was used. I don't know if it was used at opening, but I have live recordings where you can clearly hear it.

Also, you can still hear the pirate digging sound in the load area, what's missing is the dialog.

I am not sure what your description of the Dungeon music is. There used to be an acoustic guitar piece playing (someone assures me it still plays, although I can never hear it), and, apart from this music and the Overture track, no other music plays anywhere in the queue. Maybe I am not understanding your descriptions correctly.

I will ask about the 7minute loop and see what i can come up with, in the meantime is their anyway u can send me that live file so i can take a listen too it!!

The last few times I came into work, I have not heard the Dungeons music, all I heard was the Overture track that was used in Disneyland!! Either the music in the Dungeons was turned down lower and i couldnt hear it over the Overture track, or I missed it!!

And the digging, I will double check that when I go back to work Tomorrow!!!

Thanks man!!

I have a source copy of it and just need to find time to compare it to the live recordings.

I haven't heard it (the acoustic guitar music) in a while, but one of your co-workers tells me it still plays.

It was playing last week, just without the dialog that used to be there.

Are these tracks cut from the TDL CD, or did the new Pirates audio finally get released?

And does the "Pirates Overture" track play from the time you enter the queue until you get on the bateaux, or is my memory deceiving me?
