Mitchel Musso Hits the Road on Debut American Solo Tour

Teen Girl Rock Band Sensation KSM Set to Open on Select Dates

Lasting all summer long, the 38-city tour takes Mitchel to every part of the country, starting July 17 in his home state of Texas, and winding up September 24 in New Orleans (see below for a complete itinerary). The tour includes 11 shows at House of Blues clubs across the country. Opening for Mitchel on select dates is new Disney Sound band KSM. Musso opens for Metro Station (featuring brother Mason) on 9 dates.

The tour comes at an auspicious time for Mitchel. Not only did the "Hannah Montana" co-star see his CD debut at #19 on Billboard's 200 chart upon release last month, the album also hit #2 on the iTunes Pop chart, #5 on iTunes Album chart and #11 on Billboard's Digital album chart, with over 50,000 digital downloads. The debut single "Hey" shot to #8 on the iTunes Pop chart and #23 overall the week the album was released. It's Mitchel's fifth straight track to hit the Top 10 on Radio Disney's Top 30 chart. Mitchel currently has 200,000 followers on Twitter and over 1,000,000 song plays on MySpace.

Sharing the bill with Mitchel as opening act is the sensational KSM, a five-girl wrecking crew that rocks harder than any teen band on earth. Shelby (16-lead vocals/guitar), Katie (16-guitar/vocals), Shae (18-lead guitar), Sophia (17-bass) and Kate (17-drums) recently wrapped the first leg of Demi Lovato's North American tour (June 21-July 22). Earlier this year, KSM opened for Jonas Brothers and Honor Society. The girls' January appearance with Jonas Brothers in Detroit, resulted in an MTV Buzzworthy mention: "But if you can (temporarily) snap yourself out of your OMJ! euphoria, you might just notice that those chicks on stage are doing a pretty good job of warming up the crowd...we're thinking their LP may well be hyperventilation-worthy in its own right."

The band has already topped 1 million plays on MySpace, while their own reality-based web series, "KSM: Read Between the Lines," will document the formation of KSM, personal and professional successes, and life on the road, premieres on August 10. Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato and David Archuleta will make appearances in the webisodes.

Most recently, KSM were invited to record their own rendition of the Cheap Trick classic "I Want You to Want Me," which appeared in the new ABC Family summer original series, "10 Things I Hate About You." The full-length music video featuring the band and show's cast — including Ethan Peck, Lindsey Shaw, Meaghan Martin, Dana Davis, and Nicholas Braun — with additional streams and behind-the-scenes videos is available now on ABCFamily.com.

KSM's debut album Read Between the Lines will be released in September.
