Mickey Mouse Club

Hello Gang!

I was born in '82 and remember growing up with the re-runs of the Mickey Mouse Club on the Disney Channel. I would wake up every morning at 5 to watch it. My question for Y'all is this:

Has the music from the show ever been commercially available, other than the march and the Alma Matar. ?For example the cool songs that were sung for the differant days of the week. Such as "Fun With Music", "Talent Roundup", and "Anything Can Happen Day"?

Thanks!

The Monday through Friday MMC songs were originally recorded by a studio chorus, not the Mouseketeers and not from the soundtrack. The reason probably was the records were produced and shipped precisely when the show premiered in 1955 and so the kids were probably not cast yet. A handful of LP's and many 78's and 45's were made from 1955-1957, then they were repackaged in the early 60's when the show was syndicated. Other LP's were reissued under different names which gave no clue that they were actually MMC records, like HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND SONGS FOR EVERY HOLIDAY (DQ-1214), MOST BELOVED SONGS (DQ-1213) and FUN WITH MUSIC (DQ-1209).
The BEST Mickey Mouse Club LP to look for is MICKEY MOUSE CLUB SONG HITS WITH A PERSONAL MOUSEKETEER PHOTO ALBUM, which was released in 1975 when the show was revived for syndication again. This is the first LP to contain four of the five SOUNDTRACKS from the Monday through Friday songs. For some reason, only HERE COMES THE CIRCUS is not a soundtrack. The book inside is filled with photos and funny captions.
Hope this helps!

thanks everyone. I appreciate all the help. I will have to look out for that Lp with four of the five songs. the Mickey Mouse club was awesoime. I really miss it. Really wish Disney Channle would devote an entire channel to classic Disney programming like they used to show when they started the channel back in the 80's

The first week of the MMC is due out on DVD in the next wave of DIsney Treasures, probably in December. Several of the Mouseketeers taped new segments at the Studio. Negotiations are underway to see if they can include the original commercials from the shows. Should be a fun release, and hopefully lead to more of the shows over time.
