MagicTrips Radio Celebrates Epcot

Sun Sept 22 2002 / 8:20p EDT

In honor of the 20th anniversary of Walt Disney World's Epcot park, MagicTrips Radio has put together a . Epcot: 20 Years of Discovery is a tribute to the attractions and shows that have shaped Epcot since its opening.

On October 1 the broadcast will put its regular broadcast aside to exclusively celebrate the music of Epcot. The day's playlist will include attraction and show music, background music, and special exclusive tracks never before heard on Disney internet radio. Relive classic attractions such as Universe of Energy and Horizons, hear the sounds of World Showcase, and listen to songs written for Epcot that never quite made it to the park. Our tribute also includes quotes of visionary Walt Disney, and his plans for his "city of tomorrow."

The centerpiece of the celebration is a 90 minute show entitled "Epcot at 20: Looking Back at the Future", a comprehensive look at the park through the eyes of the MagicTrips Radio personalities. Enjoy detailed ride-throughs of past attractions and behind the scenes information on how the park was developed, all set to a soundtrack of music that you've only heard in the park. "Epcot at 20: Looking Back at the Future" is the first in a series of shows to be produced by the MagicTrips Radio group.

The regular broadcast will return on October 2, however listeners will still catch "Epcot at 20: Looking Back at the Future" playing throughout the broadcast until Sunday, October 6.

Any chance of a fully mixed "World Of Motion" or Cronkite "Spaceship Earth" appearing on this special? Either way, I'll be tuning in!

Unfortunately, I can not release the showtimes of the 90 minute "Looking Back at the Future" segment due to and Digital Millennium Copyright Regulations. What I CAN tell you is that the show will run throughout the day's broadcast, and if you listen for a segment of, say, three hours or more, you're bound to hear the show atleast once.

The regular all-Walt Disney World broadcast will return on Wednesday, October 2, however the "Looking Back at the Future" segment will continue to run during that broadcast until the end of the week. Hopefully everyone will get a chance to catch this show a time or two, as it will most likely not be played again in the very near future.

I'd just like to thank everyone who listened to MagicTrips Radio for our "20 Years of Discovery" celebration of Epcot yesterday. I'd also like to take the time to thank theEpiphany (Damien) and Jarvis (Scott) for their help in research, writing, and acting in the show, "Looking Back at the Future". If you missed this hour long look at Epcot's history, we are playing it randomly during our broadcast through Saturday.
