Late, Great Dal McKennon

The news reached MOUSE TRACKS that our old buddy Dallas McKennon passed away today, four days short of his 90th birthday. Of course, most of you will recognize his name from the dozens of Disney LP's on which his voice appeared between 1957 and 1971, but his career as an actor went far beyond that. He had been in a nursing home, in an extremely debilitated condition, for the past several years, but we are still sorry to have lost such a talented, creative, and naturally funny man.

That's sad. A talented man.
I think he was the voice on BTMR wasn't he? (Hold on to them.....).
No mention of his passing here in the UK.

Voice actor Dallas McKennon has passed away, just short of 90 years of age. Of course, we all know him from his Big Thunder safety spiels as well as the voice on Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland. Bummer.

After a trip to WDW in '06, I wrote a post about how the spiels kept changing from "hands and arms" to "hands, arms, and legs" and beyond. I know his voice isn't currently used on Big Thunder, but it's so iconic with my Disney theme park experience.
