This is very random, but I just listened to the 2001 Official Album of Disneyland and just wanted to thank Randy again for such a great album. I know if one were to read this board frequently, they might think that we were an ungrateful lot. That's really not the case, it's just that our appetite is very rarely satisfied. But when we do get stuff from WDR more often than not, they are superb. And I just realized this last time I listened to the DL Official Album, that they really went above and beyond to give us something special. Even for attractions that have been on the album for years, we got new mixes, and of course some all new stuff. Thanks.

One of the last things that Randy did that I particularly loved was the Splash Mountain mix that I first heard on the WDW 2000 OA--the eerie vultures on CD, with--John Debney score?(it sounds like his style--anyone know?).

We certainly appreciate all his efforts, and we miss him.

Speaking of Randy...

Randy...if you should read this, I think that the next time that we get a Classic Disney movie on DVD...you should do the music segment feature...I was watching Sleeping Beauty, and I was thinking how nice it would be if they filmed you talking about the soundtracks/scores that you have worked with, and what do I get instead...LEONARD MALTIN! Those folks must think that Leonard is a expert on EVERYTHING. They are thoughtful enough to give you a thanks in the credits. Now how about giving the real expert some camera time.

Well.... don't we all know why they use Mr Leonard Maltin and NOT Randy?

Apart from being a nice person and the instigation for a lot of those releases, Mr Maltin is popular with the populace and his name is a "drawn", while Randy is known of the aficionados only!

Oh... and remember; Randy was to have a regular column in PERSISTENCE OF VISION!

Yes, once upon a time there was a publication called PERSISTENCE OF VISION!.....

Oh, I only wish Disney would be realizing what they have with Randy ... even so a lot of the material on the current WDW OA is still created by him they did not even mention him in the Thank Yous. :-[
