Just finished Mouse Tracks

Hey guys (including Mr. Ehrbar)!

I just finished Mouse Tracks yesterday! One of the BEST books ever, and I hope that these books continue!

But this isn't WHY I am writing about this. You see, one of my favorite Peanuts specials EVER had the lone Peanuts music soundtrack release on WDR. I am, of course, talking about FLASHBEAGLE! You know, maybe Desiree Goyette and Ed Bogas would bristle at this next statement, but I always thought that It's Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown was perfectly suited to a musical!

Also, who holds the release rights to the actual special? If no one is holding those release rights at the moment, maybe Disney could step in, but I don't really know.

And one more thing: When will we see the Flashbeagle album coming to iTunes?

Thanks for the kind words on MOUSE TRACKS. Most of the Peanuts specials are being released on DVD even as we speak, so I would be surprised if FLASHBEAGLE does not appear soon... unless it is just considered to be too dated and a product of its era!

You are more than welcome, Tim!

I'd be really wary of Warner Brothers releasing Flashbeagle with any kind of love or care, seeing as how they've screwed around with the Tom & Jerry cartoons on DVD.

Thanks for the kind words from me, too! It really means a lot.

I was listening to "Stu's Show" on shokusradio.com a few weeks ago and a caller actually asked Lee Mendelson, the producer of the Peanuts specials, if "It's Flashbeagle" would ever make it to DVD. He was noncommittal, but said it was a possibility now that Warner had taken over the library. I'd also like to see the two musical animated versions of "Snoopy the Musical" and "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" get the DVD treatment, as well as the Hallmark Hall of Fame 1973 version of "Good Man" that was only broadcast once, as far as I can recall.

As far as Disney releasing the Peanuts material on iTunes, we can never say never, but there are copyright issues with anything Disneyland/Vista did for outside companies (LucasFilm, Rankin/Bass, etc.) that would prevent them any time soon.

Thanks Greg!

Actually, I was the guy who asked about that. :D

It's a real shame that the copyright issues may or may not be resolved as far as the outside company stuff. I'd certainly get it if it was, especially if it was in better quality than I have currently.
