It hasn't been officially released, but I'm posting it to the newsgroup. The files have been floating around for a long time on the internet.

Hi Rick. Don Dorsey has a CD titled "Busted". The final tracks are called "the festival of festivals".This includes most of the original illuminations.It is played on a synthesizer not by the full orchestra.

... regarding "Busted": if I understand the liner notes correctly it should be the complete original Illuminations in the original recording, as according to the liner notes the original version was done by synthesizers to give it a modern touch fitting the future aspect of EPCOT Center and got only later on recorded by a real orchestra.
Anyone here who could confirm whether this was the case?

Hello Dirk.
I believe that the original show did use sythesizers,but it was called "laserphonic fantasy".When
it was recorded by an orchestra,they added a medley of
themes which was to be played as they "illuminated" each country.The title was changed to Illuminations.This medley isn't on the "Busted" CD.
If I'm wrong about this,someone please correct me.

You are correct. It is not on the Don Dorsey CD. No reason for it to be, he did not perform the orchestral music.
